Comme des Garçons Pocket Shop Opens in New York

HOW CONVENIENT: Pocket, Rei Kawakubo‘s answer to the bodega, lands in New York City today at 112 10th Avenue. Comme des Garçons said it likens the Pocket concept, which launched in Tokyo department stores in 2007, to a modern-day convenience store for “pocket-sized items that you don’t have to think about too much and can buy on a whim.” That means mostly the Play, Wallets and Parfum collections.
Adrian Joffe, president of Comme des Garçons International, said the concept “celebrates the ease, efficiency and affordability of a convenience store.”
This is the first freestanding Pocket in the United States. There are now 30 Pocket shops worldwide in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand, as well as Singapore, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and Melbourne. The company’s Dover Street Market stores also have dedicated Pocket spaces, as does its Comme des Garçons store in Chelsea.

Kenneth Cole Reactivates Business

Changes are afoot at Kenneth Cole Productions for fall.
The 32-year-old accessories and apparel firm, which after an 18-year run as a public company went private in 2012, is starting to make some noise again.
Cole has redesigned its logo and Web site, will launch a multimedia ad campaign called “Courageous Class,” has elevated its women’s and men’s sportswear and accessories offerings for fall and will open a new prototype store on Bond and Bowery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan on Sept. 15, which incorporates both omnichannel strategies and social initiatives benefiting the neighborhood.
In a recent interview at the company’s headquarters, founder, executive chairman and chief creative officer Kenneth Cole and chief executive officer Marc Schneider described what prompted the rebranding of the business, which generates $ 1 billion in retail sales worldwide across all licenses and product categories.
Cole said he had an epiphany a few years ago and decided that “in an effort to revitalize and re-energize and make the company relevant again, that we needed to make some significant changes.” It became apparent, he added, that all the things the brand needed to be doing, it couldn’t do as a public company.
“You can’t do it in a public arena

Korn came out of California in the early nineties and went on to become one of the most globally successful metal acts of their generation. They continue to play live to vast crowds and have record sales in the millions. This concert from Montreux in 2004 is their only performance at the festival to date. It was to be one of the last shows to feature the band’s original line-up with guitarist Brian Welch leaving the group a few months later. My name is Hope and I'd like to introduce you to our world. Earth is full of two races, the Avoidables and Perfects. I'm an Avoidable because I only have one arm. I was born that way apparently. Because of my defect, my mother had to move to the Lower Side. The Perfects are humans that have no physical flaws. They live in luxury, while we live in filth. Avoidables have defects ranging from looks to unexplained gifts. Some of us are half breeds. Dragons and animals were known to have bred with the human race thousands of years ago. We all live in cities, usually divided in two. The Perfects live on the Upper Side, while the Avoidables inhabit the Lower Side. We've been consumed by hate for a race that rejects us so heartlessly. We've become dangerous. I like to sneak over to their side sometimes. It's fun to watch how they live. To watch their perfect gorgeous faces react to the one armed freak. Until I met Jason anyway. He ignored the fact that I had one arm, even daring to touch my shoulder stub. What happened when he did, blew my mind. I was no longer an ugly Avoidable. I was much, much better than any Perfect.

MUMBAI, India — There is even more glitz and party spirit at Lakme Fashion Week as the event continues the 15-year celebrations that began with the LFW summer-resort season last March.

Digital Distraction Syndrome

When I was a kid I couldn’t concentrate on homework while music was playing. The music was a distraction.

Today I often need to put on headphones and play loud music in order to concentrate on work.

What changed? Was it me?

Here’s another data point, still in anecdotal territory, obviously. My stepson fought like a wounded badger for the right to play music while doing homework. He insisted it helped him concentrate, as it does for me as an adult. But his mom and I argued that music was a distraction to learning.

We might have been wrong.

My hypothesis, subject to your sage review, is that the baseline stimulation of normal life has become a higher distraction than loud music blaring in both ears. Music once created a distraction in a quiet world. Now music creates a bit of a buffer from the baseline circus of your normal existence. And in this context I do not mean the noise of the outside world so much as the mental distraction of simply knowing you might have a message if only you looked. Stuff like that.

Music is somewhat predictable, especially for familiar songs, and it soon blends into the background of your mind, creating (in my experience) a sort of force field that keeps away the outside world. It is a defense against the distractions the world has inserted in your mind.

It goes without saying that our digital devices are both awesome in function and distracting in nature. No one wants to return to pre-digital days. But we do need to be conscious of the entire impact of our new tech, not just the shiny bits.

At the risk of being an alarmist, I’m going to go on record as saying Digital Distraction Syndrome (my name for it) is among the biggest health threats in the industrial world. The distractions of the digital age increase our stress, and stress makes us sick and crazy.

90% of the adults I know are on drugs because of what they think is the normal stress of life. Here I am counting the doctor-prescribed meds, the binge-drinking on weekends, the medical marijuana, porn, tobacco, wine before dinner, or even the exercise addiction that gooses the body to release feel-good chemistry.

How’d we get here?

Our largest and most important tech companies are literally in the business of distracting you with their advertisements and their apps. They design their products to maximize distraction, not efficiency, because your distraction is their profit. Distractions make you less effective, which makes you more stressed, which kicks the hell out of your general health. Then you die.

In other words, our most important technology companies are killing you.

For money.

Like the tobacco companies.

Is that comparison too extreme? According to the CDC, smoking will cause one person out of 13 in my country to die prematurely. Stress will probably get one-third of us, but we will label those deaths with whatever symptoms the doctor saw last, such as cardiovascular disease.

Our digital distractions are not the sole cause of our stress. But my best guess is that it accounts for about half of it in this day and age.

The tech companies’ defense (one assumes) is that no one is forcing you to do anything, and the risks and benefits are fully disclosed. That’s the tobacco defense as well. If you want to smoke, that is up to you and your free will. Likewise, no one needs all of these digital distractions to survive. You can go without your smartphone if you want. Obviously you would be living like a savage who can’t figure out how to get a ride home or pay for food, but you could do it. With your free will and stuff.

Don’t get me wrong. I think Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, and the other tech giants are huge assets to humankind. (Okay, not the last three.) I admire most of them on many levels. I love their products most of the time. I can’t imagine living without them.

And that’s the point. They own me. Choice is an illusion unless I want to go full-caveman.

If we could reboot civilization from the beginning and engineer a perfect economy, I doubt we would agree to give away our brain cycles to every company that asks. Here’s how that meeting would go:

Primitive Guy 1: “Let’s build a vibrant economy that depends on distracting people from the things they want to do every minute of every day.”

Primitive Guy 2: “Excuse me while I push this spear through your stupid head.”

That plan would have never gotten off the ground. A civilization can only get to the point we are at right now by evolving over time. A few ads on roadside billboards probably reduced the boredom of driving. No one got hurt.

Today the tech companies blast your neurons with so many stimulants – all of them science-tested for maximum impact – that all of us are operating on sensory overload and inching toward insanity.

My best guess on the eventual death toll from Digital Distraction Syndrome is in the low tens-of-millions. For comparison, the second World War only killed 60 million. I think we’ll pass that mark with ease.

Am I wrong?

Future Lawyers Should Be Screened and Trained for Empathy

I recently read an article by Jill Suttie titled “Should We Train Doctors for Empathy?” The article states in pertinent part as follows:

“While we all want great medical care, we also want doctors who listen to us and convey empathy–an understanding of our feelings and concerns, reflected in a warm demeanor. This can help us to trust and feel connected to them. But that combination can be hard to find….

Following a wave of research suggesting the far-reaching benefits of emotionally attuned physicians, leaders [in the medical profession] have been exploring ways to infuse more empathy into the medical field. That includes re-evaluating the criteria for who should get admitted to medical school in the first place, and what they should learn while they’re there. Their reforms raise questions about what constitutes quality medical care, how (and whether) it can be trained, and how much change is even possible in the American medical system today.”

That article discussed the increase in satisfaction level and response from the patients of empathic physicians and the positive impact it had on the doctors themselves in that they “experience less stress, cynicism, and burnout than those with less empathy.” It also mentioned that the current way in which doctors are trained causes an “erosion of empathy.”

The comparison between medicine and law is striking in this regard.

Those who tend to be attracted to law school in the first place tend to be logical thinkers (rule oriented) and have low EQ levels. Moreover, the research indicates that the training students receive in law school also causes an “erosion of empathy.” Furthermore, the more empathic students tend to drop out of law school at a much higher rate. Moreover, “lawyers with ‘higher levels of resilience, empathy, initiative and sociability’ are more likely to leave law practice than those with lower levels of those traits.” In fact, “some US law firms have used this assessment metric (a scale to measure sociopaths on a scale of 0 to 40, with higher levels being extreme behaviour) in their hiring practice, preferring to employ lawyers with sociopathic index close to 29.

The public’s perception of attorneys reflects this reality. In fact, in 2002, the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association prepared a report entitled, “Public Perceptions of Lawyers Consumer Research Findings”. The findings were as follows: “The legal profession is among the least reputed institutions in American society…. Lawyers have a reputation for winning at all costs, and for being driven by profit and self-interest, rather than client interest.” Lawyers “are believed to manipulate both the system and the truth…. Lawyers’ tactics are said to border on the unethical, and even illegal. This idea does not just come from the media. Personal experiences bear it out.” Sadly, the findings from all subsequent research has been very much the same.

Unfortunately, that’s not all. The following quote from an article by J. Randolph Evans and Shari Klevens titled “Awareness can save lawyers in distress” that was published in the August 14, 2015 edition of the Los Angeles Daily Journal is consistent with everything I have read on the subject:

“The numbers are shocking and sad. Although suicide is the 10th leading cause of death among all Americans, it is the third leading cause of death among attorneys, after cancer and heart disease. That’s nearly six times the suicide rate for the general population….

[A]ttorneys as a group are very susceptible to succumbing to the pressures of a professional practice. Sometimes this means the abuse of narcotics and alcohol, depression and abandonment of clients and practices. Other times it means a state of ultimate hopelessness – suicide.”

According to the American Bar Association, “it is estimated that 18 to 20 percent of the nation’s lawyers abuse alcohol or drugs. By comparison, among the general population, including persons in other highly stressful professions such as physicians and pilots, the estimated rate of chemical abuse is at a much lower eight to ten percent.”

While many law schools now offer courses in mediation, they tend to be elective courses and therefore many law students don’t take them. Furthermore, merely teaching mediation techniques is inadequate because that alone doesn’t help to increase the students’ EQ levels. While emotional intelligence skills can be learned, those skills must be internalized to be effective. Otherwise, our habitual way of reacting or behaving during conflict will preempt any training we receive.

Social and emotional skills such as empathy are essential to conflict resolution. Therefore, those best suited to work in conflict resolution should have high EQ levels (Emotional Intelligence). People frequently confuse “conflict resolution or management” with “dispute resolution.” Conflicts are emotional and disputes are fact-based.

Legal disputes are typically resolved through litigation or litigated negotiation, which are adversarial processes and thereby exacerbate the conflict in order to resolve the dispute. Since conflicts and disputes are often confused or intertwined, it is essential that lawyers be better trained in resolving, or at least de-escalating conflicts. People with low EQ levels can generally resolve disputes, but not the underlying conflicts.

People with high EQ levels have an increased self-awareness, which helps them to recognize and identify the way in which they react to things and is essential to self-management, which helps people to conduct themselves in a manner most suitable for achieving their desired outcomes. People with high EQ levels also tend to make fewer false assumptions as to people’s underlying motives, are more empathic and thereby better able to consider various perspectives. Those with greater emotional intelligence are also more aware of how their actions impact the quality of interpersonal relationships involved and do their best not to sabotage those relationships.

Meanwhile, those attracted to the practice of law are known to have low EQ levels and law school tends to erode whatever empathy those students had at the outset.

At the 50th Anniversary Conference for AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts) in 2013, Paul J. De Muniz, Distinguished Jurist in Residence, Willamette University College of Law and Former Chief Justice, Oregon Supreme Court said the following: “We need law schools to start to train lawyers who are able to effectively meet the public’s needs. This is not occurring anywhere yet.”

Law schools must begin recognizing the damage that is being caused to interpersonal relationships and our overall society, due to the low EQ levels of those involved in the field of law and make a concerted effort to address this extremely serious problem. Law schools might learn a thing or two from the changes taking place in the education of future physicians. It would benefit everyone if “leaders [in the legal field began ] exploring ways to infuse more empathy into the [legal] field. Manolo Blahnik Books First-ever Personal Appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue

SHOE IN: Manolo Blahnik will make his first-ever personal appearance at a Saks Fifth Avenue store next month. On Sept. 10 the stiletto-maker will appear within his Saks shop-in-shop boutique — located on the retailer’s “10022” shoe floor — for a signing.
From 5 to 7 p.m., shoppers who purchase a new pair of Blahniks can have their shoes signed by the footwear impresario.
Blahnik’s Saks shop-in-shop — his first-ever permanent retail fixture at a Saks store — opened within the retailer’s Manhattan flagship location earlier this month.
“New York is a very important city for me, so seeing this shop coming to life means a lot…It is very exciting to meet new faces and see the usual customers again. I really enjoy communicating with them; it’s always great to hear their experiences and feedback in first person,” Blahnik said of the event.

“As Long As I Don’t See It”

Oh, the proverbial small-town response to one’s opinion on any differing sexuality, how you boil the blood in my veins.

There are two types of sexually prejudicial people; Those that are out-rightly, aggressively ignorant, and those that like to offer some half-baked, wimpy notion of disapproval. I want to clarify that neither is any better than the other. I want to clarify this for some of the small-town conservatives I’ve been surrounded by for a large portion of my life. I want to clarify because sadly, the knowledge of the non-existent distinction often doesn’t appear to be present.

It amazes me how many people I hear say the words “As long as I don’t see it, I don’t care what people do with that.” In other words, you don’t actually feel love and acceptance towards the freedom of sexuality, you just don’t feel like taking a legitimate stance. What the heck do you mean see “it.” What is it? PDA? I’m pretty sure most people don’t want to see anyone make out on the subway, regardless of the genders involved.

Oh, do you mean sex then? Yes, for centuries people have been concerning themselves with the happenings of other people’s bedrooms. Why in the hell would you need to see two people have sex anyway? That would be like if I asked my mother what she thought of my new boyfriend and she said, “Well, I’m fine with it as long as I don’t have to see you two have sex.” Uh, sorry mom I was under the impression that was implied. You don’t have to approve of someone’s sex life to accept them, because it’s really not anyone’s damn business anyway.

So, let’s establish that kind of response is baseless and just a spineless way of saying your mind is still sickened by the fact that somewhere in the world different combinations of genitals are interacting.

Maybe we do all need to see “it.” The it not being sex, but love.

When I ask people with the “don’t want to see it” opinion how many LGBT people or relationships they’re close to, the answer is almost always “Well, none really” or something of the sort. You see, I have seen it, and what I see is love. I see the same look my boyfriend gives me when he looks at me. I see a warm hand on the face before a guided blissful kiss. I see brilliant laughter, and pure, genuine affection. I see silly dance partners, board game champion duos and conquerors of the anticipated date night. I see kisses and cheeky smiles. I see immeasurable beauty. I see love, the same love that continues to captivate my existence with every passing day.

So, to everyone that’s ever uttered that response, I hope you do see it. I hope couples will continue to be brave and courageous enough to show you their love. I hope they show you something that feels all too familiar, and strikes a place in your heart you kept hidden with fear and hatred. I hope that love touches your heart the way it has touched mine. I hope it changes you, because the world is far too dark not to see all of the love it possess.

Love is the light, may it shine on the eyes of the blind, so that they may see.

TV and the Movies Go Back to School

High school is a universe of seemingly endless drama — with nuggets of comedy, too — as these 30 classic movies and TV shows set in the classroom perfectly illustrate. From the working-class students of 1967’s “To Sir, With Love” to the enthusiastic songbirds of modern-day “Glee,” high school characters have made us laugh, cry and beat a hasty path to our local mall — to scoop up the plaid skirts and knee socks of “Clueless,” the legwarmers of “Fame,” the hooded Bajas of “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” Who can forget Ferris Bueller’s white wingtips and Tracy Flick’s prim sweater vests and Jordan Catalano’s leather choker? And the hair — “Don’t touch the hair,” insisted Vinnie Barbarino of “Welcome Back, Kotter.” As millions of teenagers head back to school, here’s a look back at their most entertaining fictional counterparts.

Release Date: October 15, 2013

Eric Clapton was already an acknowledged master of the electric guitar in January 1992 when he traded his signature Stratocaster for an acoustic Martin to record Unplugged. The live album captured the legendary guitarist, backed by a small band, performing acoustic versions of his own songs and several blues standards. The original program features 15 performances, with Clapton reinterpreted songs from his rich catalog, including "Layla" – completely reimagined as a shuffle – from his time with Derek and the Dominos, "Running On Faith" and "Old Love" from 1989's Journeyman, and the hit single "Tears In Heaven," a song he wrote after the passing of his young son Conor the previous year. Much of the album showcases blues songs Clapton grew up listening to, like Bo Diddley's "Before You Accuse Me." Big Bill Broonzy's "Hey Hey," Leadbelly's "Alberta" and Robert Johnson's "Malted Milk."This version of the program contains a newly restored version of the original broadcast, which aired August 25, 1992 on MTV. This version of the program contains a newly restored version of the original broadcast, which aired August 25, 1992 on MTV. For the first time ever, fans will also have the opportunity to see more than an hour of previously-unreleased footage recorded during the pre-show rehearsal. Filmed from multiple camera angles, it features an intimate look at Clapton and the band working on arrangements and running through 14 songs, including "Circus" and "My Father's Eyes," which were not featured in the final broadcast.

Submissive blow jobs and exhibitionism aren’t all it takes to be a slave. Cunning and strength are needed, and Mystica is put on the spot to answer questions and hold heavy trays so that her Senior Slave can enjoy a good fucking at the hands of the Butler. Naturally she apologizes to Miss Cherie’s denied pussy with a sloppy series of kisses. The final Hours of the night find our initiate trapped on her back, legs spread wide, rope tied tightly around her as the Butler and Miss Deville explore her ass with cocks and fists until the crowd is satisfied she has paid her dues and allow both slaves on the furniture to finish milking the Butler’s balls and entertaining the House with a series of nipple and clit torment games.

Young Buck Ducks Prison Over Fake Pee Test

Young Buck revealed a propensity for not wanting to win when his parole officer busted him using someone else’s urine to pass a drug test. However, he won’t be going to jail, but will be going to rehab, for his struggle.

Reports TMZ:

Buck was facing 5 years for trying to pass off someone else’s urine as his own during a random drug test in his weapons case. He brought someone else’s pee to the probation department in a plastic bag and tried to pass it off as his own … but he got caught.

The judge showed mercy, agreeing with prosecutors that rehab was more appropriate than prison. Buck must complete a treatment program, 100 hours of community service and pay a $ 7.5k fine.

Trust that all bets will be off if Buck messes this last chance up.

Chris Brown’s Baby Mama’s Boyfriend Is The Real Criminal!

Photo via Chris Brown’s Instagram

Well this is interesting. It just got real in the battle between Chris Brown and his baby mama Nia Guzman. Guzman has been asking for $ 15,000 a month in child support, and she has also said she doesn’t feel safe having their daughter around “criminal” Chris Brown and the company he keeps. It seems like the true criminal is her boyfriend King Ba. Images of King Ba were recently shown on a Houston news program as a man wanted for forging checks. It’s hard out here apparently. Breezy pointed out the irony and said God doesn’t like ugly. Nia also claims she’s single now, yet she was just on vacation with King Ba. Hmmmm.

9-year-old Bill Rohan rejoices in the destruction of his school by an errant Luftwaffe bomb. Queen and Country picks up the story nearly a decade later as Bill (Boorman's alter-ego) begins basic training in the early Fifties, during the Korean War. Bill (played by a charming Callum Turner) is joined by a trouble-making army mate, Percy (Caleb Landry Jones). They never get near Korea, but engage in a constant battle of wits with the Catch-22-worthy, Sgt. Major Bradley — the brilliant David Thewlis. Richard E. Grant is their superior, the veddy, veddy, infinitely put-upon, aptly-named Major Cross. A superb ensemble cast limns a wonderfully funny and often moving depiction of a still-recovering postwar England.

The Third Way on Immigration (Sort of a Trump Post)

Readers have objected to my prediction that Trump will win the nomination and then the general election because…

1. Trump needs about 40% of the Latino vote to win.

2. Only 13% of Latino voters support Trump, largely because of his immigration plan.

No politician can close that gap. Therefore, say the people that have been spectacularly wrong about all-things-Trump, he must be playing some sort of power game with no real intention of winning the whole thing.

Maybe.

I can see both the math and the reasoning behind that point of view. I’ll bet it would be hard to persuade you that Trump can close that kind of gap in such a short time.

Game on.

What follows is a blatant, manipulative play on your emotions that is engineered to make you believe Trump can beat the odds on Latino voters. It looks impossible to you now. You might update your opinion if you read to the end.

Please stop reading now if you don’t want to be part of the experiment. I’m not joking when I say I’m about to rewire your brain. It might feel a bit freaky, but I think it is worth it for you to get a visceral understanding of the power of persuasion.

— persuasion starts here —

Before I talk about Trump’s persuasion strategy for closing the Latino voter gap, I should reveal my bias on the topic so you can factor that in.

And I like to preface this sort of topic by saying you should not get any important opinions from cartoonists. This blog is for entertainment only.

The immigration issue has calcified into two camps, as far as I can tell. Trump’s plan forms one extreme, and includes building a wall, ending automatic citizenship for babies born on U.S. soil, and rounding up 11 million illegal aliens and deporting them.

The opposing camp believes it would be impractical, uneconomical, and inhumane to do any part of Trump’s plan. I assume many of Trump’s critics favor some sort of path to citizenship for illegal aliens.

I can see both sides. And I think both sides are missing the point by a mile.

In my view, this is one of those times when we get to pick who we are as a country. You don’t get many of these moments in a lifetime. I would hate to waste it.

Most of you heard the recent story about the Americans who helped disarm a gunman on a train in France. The young men heard trouble and they ran toward it. The story touched people in this country because it is a reminder of who we are.

I don’t think anyone in America can argue with the criticism that we can be assholes. Hey, no one is perfect. But when the shit goes down, you probably want some Americans nearby. We accept your criticisms, my international readers, but we still have your back. That’s how we roll.

I know each of you Americans reading this have your own notions about the identity of the United States, and that is my point today. The immigration issue gives us a chance to either confirm who we are or modify it. It matters that we get it right.

My view of the 11 million illegal immigrants is that anyone who wants to be on my team badly enough to commit a crime is my kind of American. My impression is that they bring up the average. I understand why some of my fellow citizens don’t want to compete with them for jobs. And good luck competing with the second generation that have their parents’ immigrant DNA and an American education. I want those kids working for my start-up.

I hear everything folks are saying about the importance of the rule of law, about fairness, economics, and crime. Countries need secure borders or they fail to remain countries. Those are important considerations. But do we want to define yourself by those worries?

We can. But it is entirely optional.

I prefer an America that knows when to use a hammer and when to use a hug. With immigration, I understand the hammer. But I prefer the hug. Not because it is right, in some intellectual sense, and not because it is economical, but because it is who I want to be.

And about that birthright law – the one that says a baby that draws its first breath in this country is an American forever? In the history of all laws made anywhere, in any age, that one is by far the coolest. It gives the country a magical vibe that feels part of our nature. I don’t want to lose that.

You can look at the immigration issue through a filter of money, law, safety, or compassion. But none of those speak comprehensively to who you want to be. You are far more than those things.

And this brings me to Donald Trump, alleged racist son-of-bitch and hater of all law-breaking, brown babies. How the hell does that guy convince millions of Latinos to vote for him?

No politician could do that.

But Trump is not a politician. He is a business person and one of the top wizards of persuasion on the planet. And he has one enormous advantage that I have never seen for any candidate: He can change his mind and show his work.

As I said in a prior post, Trump is dropping a negotiation anchor with his super-aggressive plan that includes a wall, a change to the constitution for birth rights, and deportation of millions. He has no intention of doing all of that. He is simply creating some false choices to trade away later. But not until he has the Republican nomination in the bag. So be patient.

If Trump follows form, what he really wants is a “Trump Wall” that is so “fabulous” that it becomes its own money-making tourist attraction and carries his name forever. I doubt he cares about deporting anyone or tweaking the constitution. Those are the items he plans to trade to get Trump Wall.

I expect that Trump will eventually ask the Latino community to come up with its own plan for dealing with the 11 million illegals. And that plan might include having legal citizens “sponsor” an illegal alien including absorbing some of the risk. For example, as a sponsor I might have to buy a performance bond to protect against the risk that the illegal I am sponsoring causes any damage to the country. That’s just one idea. The main point is that Trump could put the Latino community on the spot to come up with their own plan.

Then Trump supports the new plan for sponsoring illegals, showing he is a man of reason, but keeps his Trump Wall plan and tells you it will turn a profit.

Another way he can game the system is by turning out massive numbers of young, white voters who normally would not vote. A President Trump would provide more hours of free entertainment than Netflix and Snapchat combined. And I do believe it will have a big impact on voter turnout.

Update: And look for Trump to pick a second-generation Latino as his running mate. Did you see that coming?

No one can know what the future holds. But I’ll bet a Trump presidency looks a lot more feasible than it did when you started reading this.

And that’s what persuasion looks like. If you have read my prior posts on persuasion and Trump, you can start to see the method in what I wrote. For new readers, check the comments  and I expect you will see my persuasion method dissected for fun.

My disclaimer for new readers is that I am not endorsing Trump as president because I have no idea how that would work out. I am only interested in his genius of persuasion.

A Look Back On Princess Diana And Prince Charles’ Emotional Divorce

It was news that stunned the world — even if the tabloids had long claimed the royal marriage was in trouble: On August 28, 19 years ago, Prince Charles and Princess Diana divorced.

Diana — “The People’s Princess” — and Prince Charles wed in 1981 but by 1985, the marriage was reportedly already in dire straits. The pair, who had two sons together — Princes William and Harry — stuck it through for 14 years because, as Diana later told the BBC’s Martin Bashir, they “didn’t want to disappoint the public.”

“The pressure on us both as a couple with the media was phenomenal, and misunderstood by a great many people,” Diana told Bashir during the revealing 1995 interview.

Sitting down with Bashir was an audacious move on the princess’ part; at the time, the 34-year-old had been separated from her husband since 1992. A month after giving the interview, Queen Elizabeth II urged the couple to get “an early divorce” – which they did on Aug. 28, 1996.

During the interview, Diana also addressed Charles’ alleged affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles — an old friend he’d go onto marry in 2005

“There were three in the marriage, so it was a bit crowded,” she quipped.

In the end, Diana told Bashir she was content with her standing in the public eye, even if it was unlikely she’d ever be queen.

“I’d like to be a queen of people’s hearts, in people’s hearts, but I don’t see myself being Queen of this country,” she said.

A year after the split, Princess Diana was tragically killed in a car accident in Paris.

Below, read through the most interesting quotes from Princess Diana’s 1995 conversation with the BBC:

The Problem With Television Isn’t the LBT, It’s the G.

When Russell T. Davies’ Queer as Folk launched itself onto UK television screens, it inspired me to tell stories. Following the UK show, the stateside equivalent found its own voice, an audience and went on to explore and develop the gay community — working hard to tackle topical issues and push boundaries.

Then, there seemed to be nothing.

Two years ago, HBO commissioned Looking — billed as a “Gay Girls,” the short-lived drama dared to be different. Unfortunately, it was cancelled, but not before causing an extremely heated debate. I spent many hours reading all of the reasons why it fell short and ultimately was taken off the air. The only thing that keeps coming up (apart from ratings) is that it wasn’t supported by the gay community as much as it could have been.

Over the last couple of years we have seen a beautiful influx in LBT television and drama — something that makes me overjoyed. Now, Orange is the New Black, tackles lesbian, bisexual and transgender themes in abundance and the reaction couldn’t be any further from the opposite. Transparent has done the same — but this leads me to the question: Why? Do these shows not portray multitudes of diversity within their own niche community? Are these representations not always positive? Do they have a broader crossover potential into “straight culture?” Or is it simple: the lesbian, transgender and bisexual characters have the support of their target viewing audiences, but when the gay male community are given their own, they spend a lot of their time dragging their heels. So to speak.

I am not saying that LBT’s are all happy with the way they have been represented within television shows of late, merely that the support of these kinds of diversity has been overwhelming positively, and the gay male community should be doing the same.

Andrew Haigh, creator of Looking, said that one of the reasons he believed it wasn’t as successful as it could have been was down to the fact that gay men want to be represented — but only in a good light. But this leads me to another critical question: Why?

Queer as Folk didn’t shine a great light on our community at all times. Yes, it diversified in the way the stories were told — but didn’t Looking do the same? It seems more possible that as a gay male community we feel we have come a lot further than what Looking had to offer — but the reactions to the show lead me to believe that we really haven’t at all.

I watched both seasons of Looking and read many pieces on it during and after. I didn’t feel I was “one specific character,” but I was more of an amalgamation of multiples. I also see that it had flaws — like many other shows out there. But the flaws on those shows, which represent LBT culture, caused no size of uproar as much as Looking did.

I’m going to be bold and say that it wasn’t the Looking creators who went wrong, but the gay male viewing audience who tied it to a cross and let it burn. However, unbeknown to us at the time of burning, we actually created a bigger problem: Gaining further representation on television and in film.

Recently, I have been going through multiple creative processes and forms of storytelling around gay and straight characters. However, my concern is that in writing these stories and creating these gay men, I will eventually reach more impenetrable roadblocks like the ones I have already met. Could this be because of the unspoken “caution” on gay male characters that the community has essentially placed on itself?

Due to gay male character ensemble shows off-screen not gaining support, we are now in a position where it is difficult to gain it on screen. It wasn’t the creators of Looking who failed us — we failed them, and in turn we closed the door for widespread representation in our own faces. Now, we may have a long time to wait until one brave broadcaster is willing to open it again and take that “risk.”

We can’t cry out for representation and then spit on it when it arrives. We can’t lap up other shows dealing with our cohort’s problems and lives and stamp on our own because we feel like we’ve been given the short straw. We can’t decry characters that trade off sex for information, or hurt others, or don’t fully show who we as individuals are. That mentality in itself — from the gay male viewing audience — is not helping the fight for gay male rights.

My experience as a gay man is in no way the same as someone else’s. Sometimes, I am not a good person. But that’s not because I am gay. It’s because I am human and we all make mistakes no matter who we wake up next to in the morning. For me, any gay character on screen whether I relate directly or not is just as important as the last. Instead of rallying when it’s too late — we should be more active as a gay male community in the entertainment business, but also in support of other gay males who dare to be different and take a stand in showing off our wonderfully unique opinions, characters and world.

I don’t want myself or fellow writers to be limited in terms of who we choose to write. I have a voice, and like countless more I intend to use it. I will continue to write all forms of gay men — because I believe that’s how we should be seen. I will never make any apologies for doing so.

I’m a gay man and I want to see it. Any form of representation, beats absolutely none at all.

French Montana Talks Relationship With Chinx, Feud With 50 Cent, & More (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) French Montana recently stopped by Ebro In The Morning. The Bad Boy rapper addressed several topics with the Hot 97 radio show including his relationship with the late Coke Boys associate Chinx.

“I never made one dollar off Chinx Drugs as an artist. All I did with Chinx was me just helping him out, because I wanted to see my brother become as big as he can,” explained French. “At his peak this happened to him. That’s what I’m most hurt about. I want him to see how much people love him.”

The discussion also included French addressing his “beef” with 50 Cent. The two New Yorkers have been sending shots back-and-forth for years. French and 50’s most recent exchange was over Puff Daddy’s Ciroc vodka versus Fif’s Effen vodka.

“Did you ever see somebody in the club with an Effen vodka bottle?” asked French. “I feel like 50 is a marketing genius. He took it away from making music to selling vodka. He’s doing the same technique [as Puffy]. We’re just having fun with it.”

French would not directly say if he would ever collaborate with 50 on a record. He answered by suggesting his friendly rival is no longer focused on making music.

The Bronx representative also talked about working with Young Chop, Harry Fraud, and other producers on his next project. He addressed the Meek Mill/Drake battle, co-writing in Hip Hop, and Bruce Jenner changing to Caitlyn as well.

Fresh 19 Year Old Tied Tight and Made to Serve Orgy

Ashley Adams is everything The Upper Floor could hope for in a trainee slave: big bouncy natural tits, sexual hunger, a willingness to learn, and a perfect ass. However, this little slut cannot learn the rules to save her own hide! The first scene she is has her fresh young pussy lashed to the sybian vibrator and is grilled by some of our sadistic female guests on the rules. The Steward is roundly humiliated as trainee Adams tries to get out her predicament by bouncing her juicy tits and sucking cock, but it’s not enough and she is made to have screaming punishment orgasms and has her sensitive nipples tormented with electricity and clamps with the hope that the pain will help her remember. When the party moves to the lounge the guests show us the meaning of orgy, covering the furniture with a wild BDSM sex free for all. In the midst of all this sex, Ashley is put in her first suspension ever and handed over to two of our finest slaves from the first days of TUF: Nerine and Iona. These women stalk Ashley like cats of prey, beating her tender flesh and teasing her trapped pussy with a vibrator. In the end, Ashley fails once again to remember the rules and is hit many times with the cattle prod while she writhes in the air and begs for mercy. It’s time to break out the big guns, and our guest of honor John Strong is called in to feed Ashley some positive reinforcement in the form of a hard fucking in the stocks while The Steward applies some painful clamps and a few instructions of how to remember the rules. This mix seems to do the trick, and Ashley finally can recite the rules and follow them while having her 19 year old pussy mercilessly fucked. After so much embarrassment for the House, The Steward puts Ashley in a strict cowgirl and burns her sweet young thighs out as she sweats and works for every orgasm. If there is a perfect vision of desperation to please, it is the visage of this young lady by the end of the day: Sweating, eyes wide, slutty mouth open, tits bouncing, and pussy full of cock, begging to cum. Well Done Ashley!

Sotheby’s to Auction Historic Grey Pearl Necklace

ON THE BLOCK: One of the world’s rarest pearl necklaces will return to the auction circuit this October. Sotheby’s will auction “The Cowdray Pearls” at its Oct. 7 Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels sale, and estimates that the Cartier-signed piece could fetch between $ 4.5 and $ 7 million.
The necklace itself is composed of 42 extremely rare gray saltwater pearls, and the auction firm says it is a near-impossible occurrence to find that many grey pearls that create a proper match. The necklace is accompanied by a pair of matching earrings, with mounts also by Cartier.
Chin Yeow Quek, deputy chairman of Sotheby’s Asia and chairman of international jewelry, Asia, said of the lot: “Natural saltwater gray pearls are rarely seen at auction and the present necklace, strung with 42 superb gray pearls and of aristocratic provenance, is arguably the greatest of its kind in existence. This is an extraordinary collecting opportunity for pearl and jewellery connoisseurs around the world.”
Sotheby’s first auctioned the necklace in 1937. The piece originally belonged to the Viscountess Cowdray, Lady Pearson, who died in 1932.
The auction firm also holds the record for selling the most expensive natural gray pearl at auction, with the December 2012 sale of the Wrightsman Pearl brooch for
