France, 1572. During an uneasy break in the wars of religion, Catholic King Charles IX (Jean-Hugues Anglade) concludes a marriage of state between his sister, Margot (Isabelle Adjani), and the Protestant Huguenot King Henry of Navarre (Daniel Auteuil), by ramming forward a reluctant Margot’s head in lieu of a ‘Oui’. But Margot’s skull-faced Queen Mother (Virna Lisi) is already plotting the attack on the Huguenots that would come to be known as the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, and Margot is in the throes of a throbbingly romantic affair with the Protestant La Môle (Vincent Pérez). The late Patrice Chéreau’s high octane adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas novel begins in fifth gear and never lets up, plunging in hip-deep in history and into a dizzying array of characters, with assionate performances and a riveting, horrific staging of the Massacre. Originally released in the U.S. in a truncated version, this is the complete 159-minute director’s cut.

Release Date: June 1, 2018

American Animals is the unbelievable but entirely true story of four young men who attempt to execute one of the most audacious art heists in U.S. history. The film centers around two friends from the middle-class suburbs of Lexington, Kentucky. Spencer (Barry Keoghan), is determined to become an artist but feels he lacks the essential ingredient that unites all great artists – suffering. His closest friend, Warren (Evan Peters), has also been raised to believe that his life will be special, and that he will be unique in some way. But as they leave the suburbs for universities in the same town, the realities of adult life begin to dawn on them and with that, the realization that their lives may in fact never be important or special in any way. Determined to live lives that are out of the ordinary, they plan the brazen theft of some of the world’s most valuable books from the special collections room of Spencer's college library. Enlisting two more friends, accountancy major Eric (Jared Abrahamson) and fitness fanatic Chas (Blake Jenner), and taking their cues from heist movies, the gang meticulously plots the theft and subsequent fence of the stolen artworks. Although some of the group begin to have second thoughts, they discover that the plan has seemingly taken on a life of its own. Unfolding from multiple perspectives, and innovatively incorporating the real-life figures at the heart of the story, writer-director Bart Layton (The Imposter) takes the heist movie into bold new territory.

Between 1900 and 1920, like Howard Zinn's parents, more than 14 million immigrants arrived in the United States. They came fleeing poverty or war, racism or religious persecution. They dreamed of a promised land, of wealth, or simply of a better life. The New World opened its arms wide to the poor and huddled masses of the Old: its unwanted, its fugitives, and even a few utopians… After all, the rapidly expanding industries of the time required cheap labor, and immigrant workers – men, women and children – were easy to exploit. But the same period also saw the birth of organized labor, with its strikes and conflicts, and the appearance of great figures like Emma Goldman, Mother Jones, Eugene Debs and the Wobblies.

This electrifying journey through the public and private worlds of pop culture mega-icon Grace Jones contrasts musical sequences with intimate personal footage, all the while brimming with Jones’s bold aesthetic. A larger-than-life entertainer, an androgynous glam-pop diva, an unpredictable media presence – Grace Jones is all these things and more. Sophie Fiennes’s documentary goes beyond the traditional music biography, offering a portrait as stylish and unconventional as its subject. Taking us home with her to Jamaica, into the studio with long-time collaborators Sly & Robbie, and backstage at gigs around the world, the film reveals Jones as lover, daughter, mother, and businesswoman. But the stage is the fixed point to which the film returns, with eye-popping performances of "Slave to the Rhythm," “Pull Up to the Bumper,” "Love is the Drug," and more. Jones herself has said watching the film “will be like seeing me almost naked” and, indeed, Fiennes’s treatment is every bit as definition-defying as its subject, untamed by either age or life itself.

Can one car on its own represent a revolution? If we’re talking F1 and Ferrari, then the answer can only be yes. And the car is the Ferrari 312B.1970 was the year Mauro Forghieri, Ferrari’s chief engineer and designer, decided to launch a new car on the track supported by a powerful revolutionary engine, the legendary horizontally-opposed V12 model of the Ferrari 312B: the first “flat” engine in racing history, originally designed for an American aeronautical factory “to be mounted in the wing of an aeroplane”. This is how the Ferrari 312B was born, making its debut in 1970 and allowing top racing drivers, Jacky Ickx and Clay Regazzoni, to win four Grand Prix and compete for the world title right to the very end. Above all it was the revolution sparked off by this car, one of the most visually stunning, powerful vehicles ever built at the Maranello factory, that would cause an extraordinary succession of wins for Ferrari, lasting at least a decade (1970-1980) with 37 Grand Prix wins, 4 world Constructors Championships and 3 Drivers Championships.

“CAROLE KING: NATURAL WOMAN” tells, in Carole’s own words, of her family and her upbringing in Brooklyn, and the subsequent success as part of husband and wife songwriting team Goffin & King for Aldon Music in New York City. It was during this era in the early sixties that they created a string of pop hits such as 'Take Good Care of My Baby' for Bobby Vee, ‘The Locomotion’ for Little Eva, and 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' for the Shirelles, which became the first number 1 hit by a black American girl group. Not to mention the era-defining 'Up On The Roof' for the Drifters, and the magnificent ‘Natural Woman’ for Aretha Franklin. By 1970 Carole was divorced from husband and songwriting partner Gerry Goffin, and relocated to Los Angeles. It was here that she created her classic solo album Tapestry, sung from the heart and packed with iconic tunes some of which include her own honest lyrics. The album includes tracks ‘It’s Too Late’ with lyrics by Toni Stern, ‘I Feel the Earth Move’ and ‘You’ve Got A Friend.’ It held the record for the most weeks at number 1 for nearly 20 years. It has become a staple in everyone’s record collection, and has sold over 25 million copies to date. “CAROLE KING: NATURAL WOMAN” features previously unseen and rare performance material and home movies, with Carole in a new interview and archive interviews telling her life story as an acclaimed singer-songwriter. To date, more than 400 of her compositions have been recorded by over 1,000 artists, resulting in 100 hit singles. More recently, Carole was a recipient of the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors which celebrates the honorees’ lifetime artistic achievements. Whilst in 2014 a Broadway production ‘Beautiful’ (which tells her life story during the Goffin & King era) has received rave reviews winning a Tony Award and two Olivier Awards for the London production. In 2013, Carole was the first woman to be awarded the prestigious Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by the Library of Congress for her songwriting. Nowadays Carole King sees herself as much as an eco-activist as a songwriter. She is to be found constantly lobbying Congress in defense of the wildlife and eco-systems of her beloved Idaho. Featuring new interviews with fellow writers Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Carole’s daughter Sherry Goffin Kondor, legendary manager/producer Lou Adler, former manager Peter Asher, lyricists Carol Bayer Sager & Toni Stern, musicians Russ Kunkel and Danny “Kootch” Kortchmar and childhood friend and director, Joel Zwick.

From Mariachi to Ozzy, from Native roots to Mötley Crüe, Randy Castillo became the greatest drummer in rock. His personal story was even more magical. Home videos trace his musical evolution, from childhood to the surreal stagecraft of his early bands, to the innovative performances that define his legend—and heavy metal, itself—to this day. His single-minded discipline inspired everyone around him, but he is remembered by friends as a man of unfailing loyalty, unwavering kindness and an indefinable mystique that bordered on the supernatural. At the peak of his career, Randy began to focus on a family life with his fiancée, Christina. But he was soon taken by cancer, leaving a void in the lives of his fiancée, his family, and a surprisingly large circle of rock superstars who considered him to be one of their closest and most trusted friends. In the words of renowned stage manager Mark Russo, "He wasn’t just a force of nature as an artist; he was a force of nature as a human being."

Sir Stanley Matthews is considered by many to be the greatest athletes of the 20th century if not one of the greatest soccer players of all time. Stanley's footwork, sportsmanship and stardom were lightyears ahead of their time and earned him the moniker, ‘The Wizard’. Many of his accomplishments on the pitch remain untouched, even today: his career spanned over thirty-five years and found him playing professionally until the age of 50 in an era when life expectancy was just 59; he was the first ever footballer to be knighted and the first to be awarded football’s highest honor, the Ballon D’Or. But it is what he did off the pitch that made him truly great as he used his status as the world's first global sports superstar to defy the apartheid South African government and teach soccer in the all-black townships of Johannesburg, forever changing the lives of the young men he coached who became known affectionately as ‘Stan's Men’. Never-before-seen archive footage, photographs and interviews come together in this full length feature documentary to tell the incredible true story of one of international sports’ most legendary figures.

What is the validity of history found in the Bible? Is it fact or fiction? What does the hard evidence really have to say about the foundational story of the Old Testament: the Exodus out of Egypt? An in-depth investigation by documentary filmmaker Tim Mahoney searches for answers to these questions amid startling new finds that may change traditional views of history and the Bible. For more than 50 years, the vast majority of the world’s most prominent archaeologists and historians have proclaimed that there is no hard evidence to support the Exodus story found in the Bible. In fact, they say that the archaeological record is completely opposed to the Bible’s account. This view of extreme skepticism has spread from academia to the world. The case against the Exodus appears to be so strong that even some religious leaders are labeling this ancient account as historical fiction.Filmmaker Tim Mahoney begins with the question, "Is the Bible just a myth, or did the archaeologists get it wrong?" He decides to tackle this issue with a deliberate scientific approach. After examining the details in the biblical text, he journeys across the globe to search for patterns of evidence firsthand. The result is the most in-depth archaeological investigation into the Exodus from Egypt ever captured on film.

Welcome to Grey Gardens…as you've never seen it before. Three years before the Maysles' landmark documentary introduced the world to Edith and Edie Beale—the unforgettable mother-daughter (and Jackie O. relatives) living in a decaying dream world on Long Island—renowned photographer Peter Beard chronicled life at their crumbling estate during one summer in 1972. For the first time ever, director Göran Olsson (The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975) assembles this long-lost footage—featuring glimpses of luminaries like Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger, and Truman Capote—into a one-of-a-kind family portrait bursting with the loving squabbles, quotable bon mots, and impromptu musical numbers that would make Big and Little Edie beloved cultural icons.

From the director and team that brought you SOMM, the celebrated documentary behind the quest of four individuals studying to pass one of the most difficult tests you’ve NEVER heard of, comes the sequel –‘SOMM: Into the Bottle’. Viewers are taken beyond the exam and down the wine (bottle) rabbit hole. The world’s most famous winemakers and sommeliers unravel what makes wine the most compelling elixir, a beverage that is uniquely intertwined with the history of mankind. ‘SOMM: Into the Bottle’ brings viewers a rare and never before seen glimpse inside the private world of both famed and cult winemakers, such as Jean Louis Chave, Aubert de Villaine (Domaine Romanee-Conti), and Robert Mondavi. Viewers get to watch as some of the most storied bottles of wine are opened; in some cases less than a dozen are left in the world. The history, the vintage, and the magic of these bottles are discussed by the best in the business. The film also tackles wine as it intersects with politics, pleasure, world war, natural disasters, religion, and the age old question, “Can a bottle be worth thousands of dollars or is it just great marketing?” One of the most ambitious films on the subject, ‘SOMM: Into the Bottle’ shows you that the world of wine is nearly endless and that it is almost impossible to quench your thirst for knowledge. So sit back, open a bottle and enjoy as we take you “into the bottle” and back again.

THE REAGAN SHOW is an all-archival footage documentary about the original performer-president’s role of a lifetime. Teasing apart the spectacle at the heart of finger-on-the-button global diplomacy, the film follows Ronald Reagan's rivalry with charismatic Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. Tracing the Communicator-in-Chief’s impeccable discourse, it is made evident how he uses his public relations chops to overcome Soviet mistrust, the objections of a skeptical White House press corps, and the looming threat of WW III. Chock full of wit and political irony, and told solely through 1980s network news and videotapes created by the Reagan administration itself, this story from CNN Films explores Reagan’s made-for-TV approach to politics as he faced down the United States’ greatest rival. THE REAGAN SHOW also features footage of his wife Nancy Reagan and Reagan’s Deputy Chief of Staff Michael Deaver.

Over 65 million people around the world have been forced from their homes to escape famine, climate change and war in the greatest human displacement since World War II. Human Flow, an epic film journey led by the internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei, gives a powerful visual expression to this massive human migration. The documentary elucidates both the staggering scale of the refugee crisis and its profoundly personal human impact.Captured over the course of an eventful year in 23 countries, the film follows a chain of urgent human stories that stretches across the globe in countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, France, Greece, Germany, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, and Turkey. Human Flow is a witness to its subjects and their desperate search for safety, shelter and justice: from teeming refugee camps to perilous ocean crossings to barbed-wire borders; from dislocation and disillusionment to courage, endurance and adaptation; from the haunting lure of lives left behind to the unknown potential of the future. Human Flow comes at a crucial time when tolerance, compassion and trust are needed more than ever. This visceral work of cinema is a testament to the unassailable human spirit and poses one of the questions that will define this century: Will our global society emerge from fear, isolation, and self-interest and choose a path of openness, freedom, and respect for humanity?
