Dana White, president of the combat sports league UFC, says that while MMA fighter Conor McGregor impressed him in his boxing outing, he doesn’t want to see him in the square circle again. McGregor was stopped by Floyd Mayweather in the 10th round of their hyped match, which some are praising the Irishman for.
MMA Fighting reports:
“I’m so proud of Conor tonight,” White said at the evening’s postfight press conference. “It’s not the fight I thought it would be, it was a completely different fight than I expected. When you get into professional boxing, you guys know, you start four rounds, you go six rounds. He went 10 rounds tonight with arguably the greatest to ever do it.”
But White made something else equally clear at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena — he doesn’t want to see McGregor step into the squared circle again any time soon.
“I would rather he did not,” White said. “This isn’t what he does. He’s a mixed martial artist where he goes in and he fights and he uses all of his weapons, and tonight he was only allowed use his hands. I think he did great tonight, I don’t think there’s anything else left to prove. I would rather he fight in mixed martial arts.”
Our thoughts exactly, Dana White. No offense to Conor McGregor.

Technical K.O. ended the fight in the 10th round.
The “boxing” match between Floyd Mayweather and UFC star Conor McGregor ended as expected by most with a 10th round stoppage. While fight fans thought McGregor would be a challenge for the unbeaten pugilist, Mayweather gave the game Irishman a pounding before the referee hopped in to stop the carnage.
With all the hype leading up to the event, most expected Mayweather to fight another of his careful, defensive-minded matches. However, the now 50-0 Money Team boss took the fight to McGregor’s chest and waited until he tired his opponent out before unleashing his hand speed and accuracy. On unofficial score cards, McGregor was in tight competition with Mayweather but it was clear as the rounds went on that stamina favored the veteran boxer.

UFC featherweight fighter Conor McGregor might be the most exciting fighter in mixed martial arts today, and he certainly talks it like he walks it. The rising Irish star was a guest on TBS’s Conan show Thursday night, and he had some choice words for boxer Floyd Mayweather.
McGregor sat with host Conan O’Brien as part of the promotion for his upcoming fight at this weekend’s UFC 189 in Las Vegas. McGregor was set to take on UFC Featherweight champion, Brazillian Jose Aldo, in what was billed by UFC owner Dana White as “everything the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight was not” because of the explosive nature of the opponents. However, Aldo pulled out of the fight due to a rib injury, and McGregor will face talented wrestler Chad Mendes in the Octagon.
O’Brien pressed McGregor about how he would fare against Mayweather, considering they’re about the same weight and size. McGregor, much like his ring persona, didn’t mince words nor use even a hint of humility in saying he’d gladly box with Mayweather.
“If you’re asking me if I would like to fight Floyd, who wouldn’t want to dance around in the ring for $ 180 million dollars,” quipped McGregor as the audience laughed. “I certainly know he wouldn’t want to step into my world.”
But McGregor, who said he’d straight up box with Mayweather, had this to say: “If we were to get it on, I would most certainly dismantle him also.”
