2010 saw Gary Moore make a return to rock music after a long period of time exploring the blues. He was writing and working on a new rock album when all was brought to a halt by his untimely death on February 6th, 2011. This concert from Montreux in July 2010 was his last performance to be filmed. The setlist draws heavily on his hugely successful rock albums of the eighties, stirs in a couple of his classic blues tracks with some memorable hit singles and includes three brand new songs that would have featured on the album left sadly uncompleted on his death. Gary Moore was one of the finest and most respected guitarists the British Isles have ever produced. This concert shows just what a talent we will miss.

These two concerts from Montreux in 1991 and 1992 catch Tori Amos right at the start of her solo career. The first, from July 1991, was filmed a few months before the release of her "Little Earthquakes" album and the second from July 1992 followed a few months after. There is a fascinating progression from one year to the next as she grows in confidence and skill as a live performer, buoyed by the critical and commercial success of the album. Naturally most of the songs are taken from "Little Earthquakes" but there are also rare songs from her various EPs released across the two years which didn't make it onto the album including her distinctive takes on Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and "Thank You" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

Emerson, Lake and Palmer, known to all as ELP, were progressive rock’s first supergroup. Keith Emerson (keyboards) came from The Nice, Greg Lake (guitar, bass & vocals) from King Crimson and Carl Palmer (drums) from Atomic Rooster. Formed in 1970 they were an instant success and went on to have a series of hugely successful albums throughout the seventies before splitting up in the early eighties. Reunited in the early nineties they produced a new album, Black Moon, and began to tour again. In 1997 they embarked on a world tour which included this performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 7. It is the only film from this tour that is available. The set includes ELP classics from across their career including Karn Evil 9 (“Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends”), Hoedown, Take A Pebble, Lucky Man, Tarkus, Pictures At An Exhibition and Fanfare For The Common Man. Return to Forever were at the forefront of jazz/rock fusion in the seventies and like their contemporaries Weather Report and Mahavishnu Orchestra were formed by a former Miles Davis sideman, in this case the great Chick Corea. Return To Forever hit their commercial and artistic peak with a string of albums in the mid-seventies featuring the line-up of Chick Corea on keyboards, Stanley Clarke on bass, Al Di Meola on guitar and Lenny White on drums. In 2008 this classic line-up reunited for their first tour in 25 years and proved that their musicianship and the chemistry within the band were as strong as ever. This concert was filmed at Montreux in July 2008 with the bonus tracks being filmed in Clearwater, Florida later the same month.
