With both Apple and Samsung showing cellphone enthusiasts what they have to offer in terms of new phones, it’s now Google’s turn. Today (Oct. 4), the brand unveiled what might be the iPhone killer with the Pixel 2.
At their big announcement event, Google pulled the lid off the second generation of their acclaimed smartphone. They also introduced a bevy of new products of such as Google Pixel Buds, Google Home Mini, Home Max, Google Pixelbook, Google Clips and Google Daydream View.
The focus is all on the phone of course and the Pixel 2 offers potential owners a lot of cool new features. As we previous reported the Pixel 2 will come in two offerings, the Pixel 2, XL version. The Pixel 2 will remain identical identical to it’s predecessor and 2 XL will be upgrading 5.5-inch display up to a 6-inch display the almost covers the entire phone. The Pixel 2’s screen will remain at 5-inches like the previous model.
The Pixel 2 will also be utilizing “Active Edge,” which will allow users to squeeze the phone’s sides to trigger actions like activating Google Assistant or silencing the phone.
Pixel 2 will utilize Active Edge
Now for the main reason why everyone really buys these phones, the camera. Google’s VP of product management, Mario Queiroz says his team has “reimagined smartphone photography” with the Pixel 2.
DXO was given the phone for early testing and the camera scored a record-breaking 98 with the iPhone 8 Plus coming in second with 94. So what puts the Pixel 2’s camera above the iPhone 8’s? Well both cameras will have a 12.2-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization.
Highest rated camera ever!
That’s not all either, the Pixel 2’s camera uses a “dual-pixel sensor” which will allow for faster autofocus and offer a portrait mode without the use of a second camera. Google also says the new mode will also work on objects as well as people and will also be featured in the 8-megapixel front facing camera.
Take that Apple!
Google will also be introducing their own version of iPhone’s Live Photos called Motion Photos. Another cool feature that Google will offer Pixel 2 owners is the ability to store their photos and videos in original quality to Google Photos forever free of charge. So running out of space on your phone is an issue you should never have to worry about.
The Pixel camera will also be getting support for augmented reality for features such as AR stickers. You will be able to add 3D characters and emojis that move to your photos and videos. Google’s phone will be the first use Google Lens, users can get information on things like books and landmarks just by point the lens at them. You will also be able to scan email addresses and WI-FI passwrods and the phone will automatically put the information to use.
Thats pretty dope.
The Pixel 2 will come in three colors white, black and “kinda blue” and will cost $ 649 for the 64GB model and $ 749 for 128GB model. The Pixel 2 XL will come in just two colors white and black, the 64 GB model will start at $ 849 and the 128GB model will start $ 949. Slightly cheaper than the competition but for what they are offering completely worth it.
Another cool perk that Google will be throwing in is a free Home Mini for anyone who orders their phone before October 19. The Pixel will ship begining October 17 and is now available for pre-order so head to over to Google for information. and full specs on the phone.
The Pixel 2 is looking like an awesome alternative to both the Galaxy and the iPhone if you are looking to go against the grain.

Earlier this year, as our School of Fashion approached its 20th anniversary runway show, we felt compelled to make a big change. In its early years, the department staged an intimate showcase, which by 1998 had grown into a massive spectacle that took place at a historic playhouse in downtown Savannah. The event became so popular that in the early Aughts, we held the show twice — a matinee for students and families, and an evening show for international press and special guests.
This show was magnificent in scale, with capacious backdrops to fill the proscenium frame — sometimes minimalist, sometimes not — and a catwalk that flew out over the audience. It was a classic runway show: a pageant that made the heart leap and the eyes widen in wonder. The students, and everyone else, loved it. And yet, after 15 years, it was time for a change.
In 2014, we took the show a few blocks away to the AIA Award-winning SCAD Museum of Art, housed inside the oldest extant railroad depot in the U.S., the largest preservation project in university history, a literal runway of sorts. In lieu of a classic proscenium catwalk, the runway snaked through the museum’s

It’s a tricky situation for any rapper to call on Royce Da 5’9 for a feature because there’s a great chance he’s gonna outshine you on your own track. Royce wouldn’t do that to his own brother though, right?

Bergé, who used his partnership with Saint Laurent to become a powerhouse figure not just in fashion but in French culture and politics, died in the early hours of Friday at home in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, the Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent said in a statement. He was 86.
Bergé’s death comes just weeks before the inauguration of two Yves Saint Laurent museums in Paris and Marrakech, which the entrepreneur considered the culmination of a life’s work promoting the talent of the couturier whose existence was intertwined with his own.
At a press conference in June unveiling the museums, Bergé appeared in a wheelchair looking weakened after a stay in the hospital. The entrepreneur had been public about his struggle with muscular dystrophy.
Describing his at-times tempestuous but unbreakable relationship with Saint Laurent, Bergé told WWD in 2010: “The two of us formed a puzzle and we were
