NEW YORK — In what is being described as an act of terror, New York Police Department officials are still investigating an incident in lower Manhattan involving a vehicle that left eight people dead and injured more than a dozen.
In a press conference with NYPD Police Commissioner James O’Neill and FBI officials, as well as New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio described the incident as “an act of terror and a particularly cowardly act of terror aimed at innocent civilians going about their lives who had no idea what was about to hit them.”
The mayor continued, “We know that this act was intended to break our spirit but we also know that New Yorkers are strong, New Yorkers are resilient and our spirit will never be moved by an act of violence, an act meant to intimidate us. We have been tested before as a city very narthex site of today’s tragedy and New Yorkers do not give in in the face of these kids of actions. We will respond as we always do. We will be undeterred.”
De Blasio also asked all New Yorkers to be vigilant and “to live by the idea
Quiet as kept, Sean Kingston continues to rack up all the Ls. The crooner who loves to cop jewelry he can’t afford, is too broke to afford a lawyer.
Hey, we’re going by what he said.
Here’s the story — Sean was ordered to pay a Florida jeweler $ 44,000 in December but hasn’t yet, so he’s become a wanted man. According to new legal docs filed by Kingston … he didn’t know about the order, because he thought the papers he got were for another case, and he ignored them.
Sean says he’s regretful and ready to take responsibility … but wants a new trial so he can tell his side of events. He’s also asking the judge to throw him a bone because he’s repping himself “due to financial efficiency” and has had health issues after allegedly being assaulted and robbed recently.
The singer claims he’s returned some of the merch in question to Haimov Jewelers and tried to set up a payment plan, but they wouldn’t accept it.
Reportedly, Haimov Jewelers say Kingston never actually reached out to them.
As for Kingston, he’s still showing off his jewelry on Instagram.

Although details are scant at the time, a harrowing video depicting a Black Boston police officer beating a female suspect over alleged theft on a bus and then pulling his service weapon has surfaced. Riders on the vehicle pleaded with the officer to put down his gun and did the same when a fellow officer came to intervene with his weapon drawn.
Raw Story reported on the video, which was uploaded by BoomNation Station. While the video was uploaded on Friday (Sept. 18), there is not an official time stamp on the video nor has any local Boston outlet picked up the story to our knowledge.
What we can see is that the unnamed officer is brutally beating the woman and fighting with her, then he draws his gun after she doesn’t comply. From there, the riders began shouting at the officer while others began recording the incident.
More from Raw Story:
In a video posted on YouTube Friday night, the officer can be seen struggling with the woman near the end of the bus –reportedly over a petty theft charge — and quickly drawing his gun as bystanders scrambled to get out of the way.
With multiple witnesses filming the altercation on their cell phones, bystanders can be heard yelling “drop the gun,” “officer, please put down the gun” as the cop can be seen looking back at them and seeing he is being recorded.
After holstering his weapon, the officer continues to attempt to control the woman who flails at him while climbing up on bus seats in an attempt to get away.
Witnesses can heard pleading with her “sister, chill out” and “relax,” saying “we’re here for you.”
This story is developing. We will update when new information is made available. We also wish to stress that we do not know the exact date and time of the video, or if it was footage from this year.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Issa Thompson was unexpectedly brought into a criminal case in Alabama. A 20-year-old man was arrested in Tuscaloosa for allegedly pretending to be Issa in order to sexually assault women.
According to police, Aaron Hall created a fake Facebook page impersonating the Atlanta-based performer, and tricked fans into meeting him. He then reportedly abused and robbed the women. Hall was charged with rape, sodomy, and burglary.
Issa recently uploaded a video to YouTube addressing the situation. The This Summer project creator began by speaking directly to anyone that was affected by Allen’s actions.
“I just want to send my prayers and apologies out to the victims and the families. I can only imagine if something like this happened to my daughter, mother, sister or any of the women in my life. It’s truly a devastating story to hear,” says Issa.
He later adds, “If anybody has contacted you saying that they’re me, or pretending to be me, on any social network, please, please contact your local police.”

Tareek Arnold, a 23-year-old man wanted for suspicion of attempted murder in Harlem, was in handcuffed and in custody at 32nd Precinct station Tuesday night (Jun. 23). Arnold managed to escape the station in handcuffs, and the chunky cops giving chase in a released video shows that NYPD cops might need to lay off the free donuts.
As reported by WCBS and WABC, Arnold was taken into custody last Tuesday and was set to head to Manhattan Central Booking for processing. Instead, cops say Arnold assaulted an officer, while handcuffed mind you, and was seen running down a Harlem street in WCBS’ video.
What makes the whole situation comical is seeing Arnold, who isn’t so slim himself, sprinting with his handcuffed hands while two plainclothes detectives valiantly give chase but ended up looking hopeless in the end. Other fantastic details is that Arnold has two tattoos, one that reads “Troll” and the other that reads “Militant Soldier.”
But on a serious note, a large manhunt was launched by the NYPD yet Arnold is still at large.
Police are asking anyone with information on Tareek Arnold’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). There is also the NYPD CRIME Stoppers website or folks can text their what they know to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

In tonight’s 2015 NBA Draft the New York Knicks went ahead and drafted Kristaps Porzingis, a talented 19-year-old 7 footer with a good jump shot but allegedly suspect defense. The latter is what the Knicks don’t need and they left point guard Emmanuel Mudiay on the board (Denver scooped him at No. 7).
Needless to say, the slander has been swift and impeccable considering the Knicks have needed a point guard since like the start of the millennium.
Did we mention Przingis is an avid World Star watcher? Let’s get to it.

Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, 25, is a wanted man.
The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office has a warrant for the alleged Blood gangster’s arrest.
Reports by the Atlanta Journal Constitution have stated that Winfrey was truing to get “street red” within Rich Gang or the Bloods. Baby of Cash Money/Rich Gang has alleged ties to both street organizations.
Police think Winfrey shot at Wayne’s caravan on Interstate 285. He’s charged with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and acts, criminal damage, possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal gang activity, reckless conduct and discharging a weapon near the street.
He reportedly caused about $ 20,000 in damage.
It can’t be stressed enough that police officers need to do more policing and less of everything else they’re constantly making news for. A former Florida cop is probably wishing he didn’t let his temper get the best of him and he still had a job after he was fired for excessive force for battering a handcuffed Black man.
Officer John Pickett has officially been fired over how he dealt with Parker Beasley in January.
Officials said Pickett is seen on in-car video punching a handcuffed Beasley in the back seat of the car.
Raw: Dashcam shows suspect being punched (Warning: Graphic language)
Authorities said that the explanation that Pickett gave in a 16-page internal affairs investigative report doesn’t match the video.
Picket said he punched Beasley as a reaction to Beasley spitting on him. Pickett said during the investigation that he was pushing Beasley down, concerned that he would lunge and attack him or escape.
When Beasley was arrested, officers placed a spit shield over his face, but the investigation revealed that Beasley, in a drunken state, might have accidentally spit while yelling at Pickett.
In Pickett’s termination letter, the chief of police said: “Furthermore, even if the prisoner did spit at you, hitting the prisoner is not an appropriate action.”
Investigators said Pickett violated several policies, including use of force and withholding information.
Pickett has a right to appeal his termination.
Just in case you’re wondering, Pickett pleaded not guilty to the battery charges.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Human remains were found inside a wood stove at the North Carolina home of a man charged with killing a contestant from the TV show “Food Network Star,” her husband and their unborn child, a sheriff said Friday.
Cristie Schoen Codd, and her husband, Joseph “J.T.” Codd, were likely killed three days before they were reported missing, Buncombe County Sheriff Van Duncan said at a news conference. He said investigators aren’t ready to discuss a motive for the crime. The sheriff also released search warrants that showed deputies took 11 knives and a saw blade as well as “debris from wood stove” and “debris from yard” from two of Robert Jason Owens’ homes near Asheville.
Owens is being held without bail on first-degree murder charges.
Investigators said Owens did odd jobs for the couple, and Joseph Codd texted Owens several times the day before they were last heard from.
Owens was arrested after deputies saw him throwing away some of Joseph Codd’s belongings the day the couple was reported missing. Search warrants state that Owens told his wife he killed the couple.
Owens’ court-appointed lawyer, M. Victoria Jayne, has not responded to telephone messages seeking comment.
Deputies said Owens, 36, also is a prime suspect in the disappearance of college student Zebb Quinn, whose body was never found after he disappeared 15 years ago.
Cristie Codd was originally from Biloxi, Mississippi, and had worked as a movie-set caterer. She was a contestant and finalist on “Food Network Star” during its eighth season.
