Price: $ 15.99

Rental Price: $ 3.99

Release Date: June 5, 2018

In Genesis 32 we read the story of Jacob wrestling with God through the night. On the other side of Jacob’s divine encounter was a new name, a new blessing, a new identity and a new way of walking (literally). Will we be a worshipping people who are not content to sleep through the night (spiritually speaking) and wake in the morning unchanged? Like Jacob, will we enter into the wrestle with God, dare to know Him more intimately and be changed in the process? This is the premise for Hillsong Worship’s 26th live praise and worship album. The title, “THERE IS MORE”, truly is a statement-of-belief more than a record title. As Brooke Ligertwood writes, “THERE IS MORE at stake than we dare realise – souls, communities, families, nations on the other side of our wrestle through the night seasons. Our personal freedom is for corporate revival. THERE IS MORE of God and more to God and His love than we can possibly conceive of.” With songs such as, “Who You Say I Am”, “Be Still”, “The Passion” and “New Wine”, “THERE IS MORE” strikes the balance of contemplative devotion and powerful declarations of praise for both individuals and congregations alike.

Shelia E. Confirms There Will Be No Prince Hologram At Super Bowl LII

Prince live in Birmingham in 2014

Source: WENN.com / WENN

Justin Timberlake still hasn’t lived down the Super Bowl XXXVIII debacle when he and Janet Jackson took the stage, and there won’t be any reuniting of the pair during this year’s event after the entertainer said as much. With rumors of a hologram of Prince reportedly scheduled to appear at the Super Bowl LII halftime show against the late singer’s spoken wishes, Prince’s former collaborator Shelia E. confirmed that the hologram isn’t happening.

The chatter around the alleged hologram picked up speed and had fans concerned that Prince’s legacy would be tarnished. Shelia E., catching wind of the chatter, said she spoke with Timberlake which cleared up any impending confusion around her former collaborator’s image being used in such fashion.

“Family, I spoke w/Justin 2nite and he shared heartfelt words of respect for Prince & the Purple fans. I look 4wrd 2 seeing what I’m sure is going 2 be a spectacular halftime show. There is no hologram,” Shelia E. tweeted Saturday (Feb. 3).

Earlier in the day, Shelia E. tweeted in reaction to a Pitchfork story that suggested the hologram was going to be part of the show on the heels of a TMZ story.

There was never a confirmed report of a Prince hologram.

Genre: Drama

Price: $ 7.99

Rental Price: $ 0.99

Release Date: April 8, 2008

A sprawling epic of family, faith, power and oil, THERE WILL BE BLOOD is set on the incendiary frontier of California’s turn-of-the-century petroleum boom. The story chronicles the life and times of one Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), who transforms himself from a down-and-out silver miner raising a son on his own into a self-made oil tycoon. When Plainview gets a mysterious tip-off that there’s a little town out West where an ocean of oil is oozing out of the ground, he heads with his son, H.W. (Dillon Freasier), to take their chances in dust-worn Little Boston. In this hardscrabble town, where the main excitement centers around the holy roller church of charismatic preacher Eli Sunday (Paul Dano), Plainview and H.W. make their lucky strike. But even as the well raises all of their fortunes, nothing will remain the same as conflicts escalate and every human value – love, hope, community, belief, ambition and even the bond between father and son – is imperiled by corruption, deception and the flow of oil.

Daddy Touched Me There

Daddy and I have always been close but not like this. Mom was away for the weekend when it all happened I was checking out my cheer-leading outfit in the mirror when he slipped up behind me and started caressing my breasts and complimenting me. I started to protest when Daddy touched me there. Since I wasn’t wearing panties his touch sent shivers up my spine and all my reservations went out the window. Daddy threw me on the bed and ate my wet pussy making me cum really hard. Before I knew it his cock was in my mouth and I was begging to be fucked.

There Is A Lil Wayne Sex Tape, You’ll Never See It

There is a Lil Wayne sex tape and it is being shopped. Don’t bank on seeing this film of Tunechi getting it on with two women in just his socks ever seeing the light of day officially, though.

Reports TMZ:

We’re told the big porn companies have been contacted by a person in possession of the tape, which shows Wayne in nothing but his socks, and 2 more-than-accommodating women who do all the work.

Wayne’s rep says if there is a tape, the rapper didn’t know he was being filmed. And the rep makes it clear they will pounce if a tape is released to the public, saying, “We’ll sue the hell out of them.”

Without Wayne’s sign-off, the big porn companies would never take the risk.

Weezy wouldn’t be the first celeb to dead the release of an illicit tape. For example, both Kanye West and Iggy Azalea put the kabosh on the release of their personal porn films.

Is There a Fashion Investment That Will Fund Your Old Age? One Writer Investigates

cartier

When the stock market starts to go nuts, when you find the word volatility creeping into your conversations—and not just to describe your boss—you may find yourself thinking, “Where could I park my money that won’t be subject to such wild swings? Is there an investment I can make—preferably in something beautiful, something I can actually enjoy for decades!—that will also fund my old age?”

Of course, as in so much else in life, financial hindsight is 20/20: If only my dad had bought that little yellow house in Montauk for $ 14,000 in 1961! If only I had ripped a Keith Haring Radiant Baby graffiti off a subway station wall 30 years ago!

But if I have been spectacularly unsuccessful in my investment planning thus far, at least I have the right friends. I sit down with my compatriot B., who is a genius at flipping real estate, and is also a walking encyclopedia of high-end vintage goods. He agrees with me that the trouble with sinking your disposable income into a Fortuny gown or a Chanel frock from the twenties is that you can’t actually wear these things—a single drop of perspiration, an errant rain shower, can trigger a rapid deterioration that will destroy future earning potential. Think about it—even a stolid Birkin is worth much more in a pristine state. (But what fun is it to have a Birkin if you can’t take it out so your friends will say, “Oh look, you have a Birkin.”) To put it simply: The more you personally enjoy using your vintage fashions and accessories, the less they will be worth.

B. thinks gorgeous furniture is a great alternative, but I am not sure my dinky apartment is the right place for a Gallé breakfront. And you can’t wear a Gio Ponti credenza to the Met Gala, or string a Ruhlmann desk around your neck and go out to dinner.

Which brings us to jewelry! This stuff practically is money (Just ask a drug dealer, or a refugee from czarist Russia, what the best way to smuggle money across borders is, and they will point to a batch of bling hidden in their underwear.) B. says your pieces should be signed if at all possible, and that Van Cleef and Cartier are at the top of this glittering pyramid. To this duo, you can add Verdura and Bulgari, and more contemporary pieces by JAR.

But why stop with the brands that everybody knows? Substantial money, B. tells me, is secreted in far more obscure pieces—French Art Deco masterworks by people like Jean Després, Raymond Templier, Gustave-Roger Sandoz, and Suzanne Belperron. (Google their creations—your heart will stop.)

It begins to dawn on me that real scholarship is required to make the proper financial decisions—otherwise, how will you know if you bump into a Templier brooch at the Porte de Clignancourt flea market? At least he signed his creations—Suzanne’s glorious pieces are defiantly nameless. Asked once why she never signed her work, Madame Belperron replied: “My style is my signature.”

So start studying! Brush up on your French! Or forget the whole thing and call a broker.

News in Brief: Barbara Bush Calls White House To See If She Can Leave Husband There For Few Hours

WASHINGTON—Saying she had a busy afternoon ahead and could use some time to herself, former First Lady Barbara Bush reportedly called the White House Wednesday to see if she could leave her husband there for a few hours. “I have to run some errands, and it’d be so much easier if I could just leave George somewhere he’s comfortable and not have to worry about him,” said Mrs. Bush over the phone, emphasizing that she would be back to pick up the 41st president of the United States before he became too much of a handful for anyone. “He’s already familiar with the place and knows a lot of the people there. You can just let him wander around, or if he starts getting in your way, just sit him down in the Blue Room with a book or the annual budget and he’ll be …

Were There Any Clues Woman’s Husband Of 15 Years Could Be A Serial Rapist?

What if one day you found out that your high school sweetheart, your husband, the man you slept with every night, and father of your children, was accused of living a secret life? For Kari, that’s what happened when police showed up at her door in 2013.

“My life was turned upside down,” says Kari, who was married to Lonnie for 15 years. “I was awakened to police officers outside my home. They told me that my husband had been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and possible rape. I was shocked. I thought, this can’t be true. You have the wrong person.”

With Lonnie’s consent, police searched his vehicle after stopping him for a minor traffic violation, where they found handcuffs, ladies’ nylons, syringes, a stun gun, prescription drug vials, adhesive tape, and metal leg shackles — some of the same items that Kari says she had also found around their home but disregarded.

“I just kept saying to myself, ‘This can’t be happening,’” Kari recalls. “Lonnie and I were married for 15 years. It scares me that if they do have the right guy, I laid next to him in bed and had a family with him. Lonnie never showed me any signs of hate toward women. We have two daughters together, and he was the best dad.”

Does Kari look back and think she missed any red flags? Watch the video above in which she recalls how she made sense of the zip ties and syringes she discovered around the house, and see more from Friday’s episode of Dr. Phil here.

White guys aplenty! It sounds like a ’90s jazz fusion band.

Finally President Obama’s marriage-for-all, healthcare-for-all, economic-success-ridden reign of terror will soon be over, and we’ll get back to the principles this country was founded on: a lot of out-of-touch, powerful wealthy white dudes trying to get more wealthy and more powerful.

BuzzFeed took to the streets to ask average Americans their opinion of the candidates and if they could actually remember the names of so many pasty dudes.

Avengers 2: There May Just Be A Pop Epic Somewhere Inside Marvel’s “Disappointing” Age of Ultron Mega-Hit

For what’s turned out to be one of the biggest hits of all-time — likely finishing its first release run at number 6 on the all-time worldwide box office list and number 8 on the domestic box office list — the not especially felicitously titled Avengers: Age of Ultron has gotten a lot less love and devotion than the numbers would suggest. And the numbers themselves, at least in some circles perhaps predisposed to backlash against the ongoing success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are a tad disappointing.

Naturally, some important spoilers ensue.

Yes, with its Japan opening over the weekend suggesting it will end up with something under $ 1.5 billion in worldwide box office, Avengers 2 is ending up within at least distant hailing distance of The Avengers. But its domestic performance, which will end under $ 460 million, is a far cry from the first film’s stunning $ 623 million. And the worldwide performance will end up bested both by 2015 rivals Jurassic World and Fast & Furious 7. With the Star Wars reboot, initially expected to be the Avengers only real box rival this year, still waiting in December.

When I first saw Avengers 2, as it opened at the beginning of May, I liked it and found it intriguing. I also found it busy and a bit frustrating for all its franchise-building business and repeated action.

Then, a month ago, I watched it three times in a row in the theater, including a 3D showing, which I usually don’t like. I found that I liked the film a lot better, not that I disliked it at all before. I also found that depths and connections, which the film only hinted at the first time round, seemed much richer than before. But I also realized that my mind was not only remembering and connecting more, it was also filling in some gaps that the present version of the film does not.

The bright picture of the Marvelverse’s near future darkens in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It’s the end of the path Tony Stark started them on.

Clearly, there’s more to Avengers 2 somewhere, perhaps enough to turn a good movie into a near-pop epic. And it turns out there will be a director’s cut available when the film is released on disc and digital download in September.

Should this nearly hour-longer version have been released theatrically in the first place? Perhaps, especially if Marvel wanted moviegoers to take to Avengers 2 anywhere near as much as they did in 2012 to The Avengers, in which all the characters have room to breathe and scenes play out. But perhaps not if they’re in business to maximize profit. Fewer showings per day, and all that. And this is an ADD era.

Maybe the movie should have tried to do less. As it is, it does so much that the central storyline, gripping and relatable in the Marvelverse, loses focus and impact. That’s Tony Stark, in his angst and hubris in the aftermath of the first film’s near apocalypse in New York, reverting to arrogant form in secretly creating the Ultron program.

Tony just wants what many of us want: A sustainable global security architecture imbued with a sense of justice. Kinda like Franklin D. Roosevelt’s conception of the United Nations. Except with artificial intelligence and robots, absent the trappings of democracy.

As Nick Fury tells him in their farmhouse confrontation, Tony didn’t hesitate for a second before he just went for it. Tony’s ongoing fear of the unknowable threats he glimpsed in space as he let go of that redirected nuke in The Avengers joins with his post-traumatic stress and inherent arrogance to make a megalomaniac. And a very dangerous one, at that, albeit with the best of intentions.

The movie exists because the supposed best and brightest — not to mention the brightest light and biggest star of the Marvelverse — makes a horrible series of mistakes that not only backfire but nearly cause humanity’s annihilation.

Big stuff. And it’s in this version of Avengers 2. But it’s muted by all the other stuff going on, much of it moving building blocks into place for future movies, some of it intriguing things writer/director Joss Whedon wanted to do.

Whedon spoke before Avengers 2 was finished of wanting to make The Empire Strikes Back of the Marvelverse but fearing it would be more like Iron Man 2.

Like Avengers 2 in the Marvelverse, Empire Strikes Back is a transitional portion of the Star Wars saga. The most critically revered and I think easily the best of the Star Wars films, Empire Strikes Back represents a darkening of the Star Wars universe, previously rather bright and, at times, even effervescent. It was also the lowest grossing film in the original trilogy.

Like Empire Strikes Back, Avengers 2 marks a dark turn in the Marvelverse, in this case a dark turn which began with a PTSD Tony Stark in Iron Man 3 and which heightened with last year’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

I wondered before Avengers 2 opened if the darkening of the Marvelverse, always more brightly hued and humorous than the Dark Knight Trilogy, would prevent the new film from surpassing The Avengers.

With the great expansion over the past few years of the studios’ ability to penetrate the international marketplace, Avengers 2 had seemed likely to best The Avengers in worldwide box office even if, as also seemed likely, it was not as big a pop phenomenon in North America. But it’s coming up short, following the very likely drop of more than 25 percent in domestic box office performance from the first film.

The darkening prospect of Avengers 2 and its inherent lack of resolution as a transitional picture are big parts of that result, as is the “busy-ness” of all the business the film takes on.

All the busy business drawing from the main storyline makes Avengers 2, as Joss Whedon evidently feared, more than a little like Iron Man 2. In that 2010 sequel to the 2008 pop classic that was the first Iron Man (both films directed by Jon Favreau), an intriguing conflict between Tony and his might-have-been Russian doppelgänger is frequently derailed by campy interludes with a Stark rival and by the showy introduction of Black Widow.

Though I’ve since come to absolutely love Scarlett Johansson in the role, she was at the time being hyped in the media as the hottest woman in the world. I found it all a bit much.

In retrospect, seeing all these movies fitting together, there’s much of Iron Man 2 I love. And in any event, Avengers 2 works better as an individual film than Iron Man 2. It just needs less. Or more.

Since much of what we have is now already in our heads and seems truncated, I want more.

In The Empire Strikes Back, only Luke has a vision foreshadowing events. In this film, Tony, Natasha, Thor, Cap, and Banner all have visions induced by the Scarlet Witch. Only Tony’s seems like it might be complete.

What does not seem stinted on in this version of the film is the action. Of course, that’s bread and butter for its bottom line. If anything, though, there may be too much action. Especially with the big climactic battle.

There’s not much I don’t like in how Marvel uber-producer Kevin Feige and company put these films together. With the notable exception of these big battle scenes near the end of each film. (I’m someone who would like a film full of scenes like the terrific Avengers cocktail party scene in this picture. That’s where having an outstanding cast across the board, and clever, often heartfelt, writing, really shows up. That said, it would be hard to say I’m not an action fan.)

Even in the first Avengers, the big battle at the end seemed a little too long. And that was to save New York, with the crowning scene which redeems Tony’s self-absorbed anti-hero into a truly self-sacrificing hero.

Here the battle’s to save a fake place, a fairly generic East Euro city called Sokovia — not to be confused with the classical guitarist Segovia — which would actually play better as a Balkans locale. So why not make it a real one, with Stark’s weaponeers back in the day imprinting the Maximoff twins with fear and hatred after selling to all sides in the post-Cold War ethnic conflicts?

With the truncated visions, and the obviously foreshortened presentation of the charmingly bittersweet Natasha-Banner relationship, big chunks of rich characterization and motivation are lost in the service of the film’s velocity. But if the stuff on screen doesn’t bring the audience along in full engagement as it whizzes by, the purpose is diminished.

Despite it all, we do know why Tony leaves the Avengers. We’re not so clear on why Hawkeye steps away, though the wonderful sequence surprisingly introducing his wife and kids, Mad Men‘s Linda Cardellini and company, allows you to infer his reasons.

But what is up with Thor leaving?

The Avengers wrap up their Manhattan cocktail party by seeing who is worthy enough to lift Thor’s hammer.

Of course, he has to go back to Asgard for the next big Thor movie. But in this movie, his motivation is pretty hazy.

Also given short shrift is Thor’s remark to Tony about him being the only real unknown in the Avengers mix. I think I know what that means and I don’t want to spoil it, but it zipped by so fast that most people missed it. As did the Norse rune left behind on the ground after Thor’s fiery departure. Nobody even notices it. Not only is its meaning a mystery, it’s a mystery that zipped by so fast that it doesn’t exist as a mystery.

As did Cap’s dream sequence. Tony tells Cap he doesn’t trust a guy without a dark side, but what little we see of Cap back in the ’40s with an always very welcome British agent Peggy Carter is actually pretty weird and dark. What does it mean? We haven’t a clue.

At other points in the film, Cap gazes all too briefly at Hawkeye’s bucolic homestead — the sort of Americana setting one could see Cap in — and elsewhere remarks that he’s not the same man who went into the ice 75 years ago.

That’s pretty interesting for this great iconic character. But he doesn’t elaborate, and no one follows up.

With the crush of major characters in this movie, even the title villain gets a little short-changed in his own movie. As in Iron Man 2, Ultron is, apparently, another would-be Tony Stark doppelgänger, a very intriguing notion that needs to breathe more.

Incidentally, why is it the Age of Ultron, anyway? Yes, that’s what it was in the comics (with a pretty different story), but those were a series. This is one movie, just a matter of days in Marvelverse time, far too brief to be an “age.”

One thing that does pay off late in the film is the wonderful early sequence in which Thor challenges his colleagues to lift his mighty hammer. (Whedon evidently dropped off Twitter after being unfairly savaged for an obscure Tony Stark historical joke that is sexist. It’s not only entirely in character for this rogue, it’s a way for the character to acknowledge and make fun of his being an arrogant dick. Literally.)

Only Cap is able to briefly dent Thor’s smug confidence that only he is worthy enough to wield the hammer. The sequence is very funny and telling.

Later, a new character, created by Ultron and Tony, a melding of Tony’s Jarvis AI assistant and a synthetic human/alloy hybrid body called the Vision, nonchalantly lofts the hammer in the course of things.

With just a little echoing of the Iron Man hot rod red and gold design motif Jarvis helped create, the Vision looks like a great new Avenger.

He agrees with Ultron, before finally dispatching the villainous mistake’s last incarnation, that in the long run humanity is doomed. For two powerful artificial intelligences, both alter egos of a sort to Tony Stark, to agree on this is quite intriguing for the Marvelverse. But it goes by too fast, as does Vision’s observation that the beautiful does not have to last in order to have great value.

The creation of this evidently healthy new life form of great power and insight is a big deal in the Marvelverse, not to mention a harbinger of what may happen in the not terribly distant future in the real world, as I discussed last week. But it loses its impact in this seemingly rushed version of the film.

By the way, we are now 11 movies into a Marvel Cinematic Universe that debuted in 2008 and we still have not been told why the Avengers are called the Avengers.

It’s a little odd, too, because — despite Mrs. Hawkeye’s perfectly droll remark to her husband that she totally supports him in his avenging — the Avengers are not about avenging.

Nick Fury thrilled fanboys across the world in Iron Man‘s add-on scene when he showed up at Tony Stark’s fabulous Malibu pad to say he wanted to talk to him about “the Avenger Initiative.” But he never said why he called it that, either then or in the first Avengers movie when he brought the team together.

Tony mentioned the name to Loki when he confronted him at his fabulous Manhattan pad, but again didn’t explain the name, saying only that if they couldn’t protect the Earth they would damn sure avenge it.

So I looked it up, and it turns out that the name goes back to the first Avengers comic book in 1963.

After their adventure, Ant-Man — who we’ll finally see this month in, well, Ant-Man (with Mad Men star John Slattery again playing Howard Stark, father of Tony Stark) — tells the pick-up group of rather motley superheroes that they should be a team. Iron Man agrees. So does Thor. Hulk says he’s in, too, whether the others like it or not, but what are they going to call themselves?

Wasp, Ant-Man’s future ex-wife, says the name needs to be something “colorful and dramatic, like the Avengers.” That’s it, says Ant-Man, and so it was.

The Avengers come together in very different fashion in the movies. But the name is, as Wasp said back in ’63, “colorful and dramatic.”

That’s why I named my little boat the Avenger back in the day. Not because of the Marvel comic books, which I didn’t read, but because it was the name of a space ship at the end of The Puppet Masters, the old Robert Heinlein novel that first turned me on to science fiction as a kid.

Too aggressive a name for a boat, you say? Not when it has rocket launchers and machine guns, it ain’t.

Besides, it’s a very cool name. Going back 237 years, there have been nine major Royal Navy ships that carried the name Avenger.

And now a second very big movie, one that I suspect is going to deepen into something quite special in its longer version.

News in Brief: Report: More American Children Raised By Carjackers Who Didn’t Realize There Was Someone In Backseat

WASHINGTON—Revealing an increase in nontraditional family structures, a report released Thursday by the Pew Research Center found that more American children are being raised by carjackers who didn’t realize there was someone in the backseat. “The number of U.S. children reared by criminals who stole a vehicle by force and then left the scene unaware that a small child was in the rear passenger seat has almost doubled,” the report read in part, showing that since 2014 there has been a dramatic spike in the number of carjackers who made the choice to care for an infant they were surprised to discover in the back of the car after peeling out of an isolated, poorly lit parking lot. “Whether escaped convicts commandeer a vehicle only to find a sleeping toddler that they quickly bond with, or a thief suddenly begins to feel a parental responsibility to care …

Dating Choices: Are There Too Many Options?

I just finished watching a six week series on FYI that was actually quite intriguing. The show itself was down right brain stimulation for me. The name of the show is Married at First Sight, and the premise of the show is exactly as the title appears. Four experts including a Professor of sociology, a clinical psychologist, a humanist chaplain (AKA spiritual counselor), and a sexologist take a group of individuals and play matchmaker.

The individuals are advised they have been picked for the social experiment which will track them for six weeks. Week 1 — a true and legally binding wedding. Week 6 — they decide if they want to remain married or get a divorce.

So, this brings me to my question: In this “day and age” is the issue in the single world that we have too many options? Too many choices?

I have been on Match.com a few times. About two years ago, I decided I was ready to date. After meeting several new friends, people I hope I never have to have coffee again, and some people that clearly just weren’t meant for me, I found a wonderful man. Little did I know everything about him was a lie. I am a woman who got the old “Bait and Switch”.

In three months on Match.com, I received over 300 emails. Some from men who just “winked” and never returned, some men who wrote one email and never returned, some turned in to dates, some into dates I wish I had not wasted my makeup on, and one turned into more — for a short period of time. But again, after a few months he realized he wasn’t what he said he was. Turns out even with all of those choices, I got hurt again.

It gets me thinking about all of these experiences and choices vs. what if I had experts who concluded that I was a perfect match for someone. Would I marry someone based on those tests? My answer is easy and a clear shouting: yes.

While I have never been on Tinder, I am aware of the “swipe right” technology and how easy it is to look at a picture and say nope… not the one for me! I also know that as soon as I signed up for Match.com there were literally thousands of profiles of men to choose from. So how do you narrow that down? Which box do you check for “important” keeping in mind the deception factor that always exists on the Internet?

With the technology advancing, the communication ability decreases tenfold. People don’t feel comfortable approaching each other because of what society has labeled them. If a woman approaches a man she’s desperate or horny. If a man approaches a woman he’s just a creeper or someone to fear. No one trusts each other, but yet there is a special section on Craigslist in every city called “missed connections” specifically for people who didn’t talk to each other in person but feel okay trying to connect through the internet.

Relationships are never easy. Those who marry end up sacrificed to the divorce gods in upwards of 50 percent of first time marriages and the number of people in subsequent marriages who end up divorced is even higher. Why is that? What happened to vows?

On Married at First Sight, out of the three couples, two decided to stay married. The third couple, the man wasn’t who he told the experts he was. He had them believing he was ready for marriage and open to certain things when in actuality they were deal breakers. He just wasn’t invested and didn’t want to do the work to find out if it could really work. In turn, the woman involved felt as though she had done something wrong and was tremendously hurt.

I almost feel like that last couple encompassed my entire dating/love history in six short weeks. Married to a man that couldn’t come home because work was more important. The woman sleeping alone even though she’s in a relationship. The woman opening herself up and continually trying to move the relationship forward, while the man is making plans to just stay in his old life, in his old house, with his old familiar job and lets her go instead of doing the work to keep her.

Take away the “grass is always greener” option and instead show me truth. How about these experts find someone who is equally dedicated to a relationship, loyal, kind, independent and self-sufficient, yet wanting to share their life with someone? Someone who is open to both receiving and giving love, who will debate and get passionate over something they truly care about. Then have the experts tell me where to meet him, and yes. I would absolutely do it. Why? Because I am overwhelmed by the choices and clearly no good and making the partner choice for myself; maybe an expert or old fashioned arranged marriage without the option of divorce, is exactly what more people need to teach them the meaning of fix it, don’t throw it away.

I think everyone out there currently married or not has been hurt and has been thrown back to the dating wolves. Am I saying arranged marriages need to make a comeback over all? No. But everyone needs to stop and really think about who they are and what they want. What are non-negotiables for you in a partner? Don’t get wrapped up in feel good of the butterflies in the stomach moment and let go all of what you think is important.

But also, don’t throw away something beautiful that may be ugly today, just for the hopes of finding something better tomorrow. Stay. Fix it. Make it work and don’t give up. If you are like me and don’t have that partner yet… they’re coming. They may just need a better road map with less distractions and fewer choices.

This Map Shows How Far There Is To Go In LGBT Rights — Even After Marriage Equality

A record 60 percent of Americans now favor same-sex marriage rights, according to a new Gallup poll, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates await the U.S. Supreme Court’s forthcoming ruling on marriage equality with bated breath. Still, in a sobering reminder that true equality is still far from a national reality, a new surveying map finds that 61 percent of Americans reside in states where protections for the LGBT community leave a lot to be desired.

A project of the Colorado-based independent think tank Movement Advancement Project, “Mapping LGBT Equality in America” found that 61 percent of the U.S. LGBT population will “continue to live in states with medium or low legal protections, or that have outright hostile laws.”

In an attempt to show the “uneven and uncertain progress” of pro-LGBT legislation nationwide, Movement Advancement Project officials ranked each of the 50 U.S. states as high, low, medium or negative in regard to equality. They examined marriage and partnership recognition, adoption and parenting laws, workplace non-discrimination policies and the ability of a transgender person to change the gender marker on an official document such as a driver’s license.

Negative laws, organizers noted, were defined by those that specifically limit access to rights, services and programs for LGBT people, such as healthcare exclusions that bar transgender people from gender confirmation-related care and HIV criminalization laws, which disproportionately impact gay and bisexual men.

They found that 29 percent of the U.S. LGBT population were living in 13 states that they determined to have “negative equality,” including Louisiana, Kansas, Ohio, Michigan and Georgia.

On the flip side, 39 percent of that population called one of 12 “high equality” states or the District of Columbia home. States coming in on the “high” end of the scale were California, Oregon, Illinois and five out of the six New England states. (The sole northeastern outlier, New Hampshire, was deemed to have “medium equality.”)

Movement Advancement Project Executive Director Ineke Mushovic said that although a marriage equality victory at the Supreme Court would be “transformative,” additional legislation is “needed to fully protect LGBT people and their families.”

“One state may have high equality while a neighboring state has hostile laws,” Mushovic wrote in an email statement. “Or, a state may have high levels of equality for gay, lesbian and bisexual people while offering almost no legal protections to transgender people.”

The central message of the report is in line with a new book by renowned activist and HuffPost Gay Voices Editor-at-Large Michelangelo Signorile. In It’s Not Over: Getting Beyond Tolerance, Defeating Homophobia, and Winning True Equality, Signorile argues that the lives of LGBT Americans won’t change radically even if the Supreme Court rules in favor of same-sex marriage.

Many states, he notes, will still have limited anti-discrimination protections for LGBT employees, while homophobia and transphobia will still be prevalent in public schools even if same-sex marriage laws are in place.

He sees many LGBT rights advocates as being victims of “victory blindness,” because of advances in the fight for same-sex marriage, among other realms. Thus, many of those advocates are lead to believe that “living within this seductive moment of advances for LGBT rights, that we’ve ‘arrived’ and the rest of it is inevitable.”

Chris Harrison Says The Audience Will Decide If There Will Ever Be A Gay ‘Bachelor’

According to Chris Harrison, it’s up to the television audiences to decide if there will ever be a gay “Bachelor.”

“That’s really who dictates where shows go on television — where we go socially [in] television, entertainment, everywhere,” the host of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” told HuffPost Live in an interview this week. “They will dictate when it’s time, if we’re ready for that, if it would be successful, if it would be a good business move — the audience always dictates where we go in reality television.”

Viewers, he added, were at the heart of all entertainment-related business ventures: “Believe me, when you stop watching a show … it’s off the air, or it will change.”

Harrison, who supports same-sex marriage, previously said he wasn’t sure if a gay “Bachelor” would be a good fit for the ABC reality series.

“Look, if you’ve been making pizzas for 12 years and you’ve made millions of dollars and everybody loves your pizzas and someone comes and says, ‘Hey, you should make hamburgers.’ Why? I have a great business model,” he told the New York Times Magazine last year. “I don’t know if hamburgers are going to sell.”

He added, “Is our job to break barriers, or is it a business? That’s not for me to answer.”

Beyoncé’s Met Gala 2015 Dress Is Barely There

Our hearts started racing the very second this sketch of Beyoncé’s rumored Met Gala 2015 dress surfaced on Twitter. It was more than we could ever imagine for the fabulous fête. Then the moment we had been waiting for finally arrived.

Queen Bey teased her look on Instagram before hitting the red carpet and there’s very little that she left to the imagination.

The see-through dress is embellished with sequins and glittering rhinestones in all the right places. Nude ankle-strapped pumps and a high ponytail make the entertainer appear 10 feet tall.

Sorry, Kim Kardashian but Beyoncé wins the sheer style game.

‘Glee’ Actor Kevin McHale Says There Won’t Be A ‘Glee’ Spinoff: ‘We’re Off The Air For A Reason’

During a visit to “The HuffPost Show” on Friday, “Glee” actor Kevin McHale told hosts Roy Sekoff and Marc Lamont Hill that he doesn’t see a spinoff of the series in the future, particularly because of how much viewership dropped off in later seasons.

“Towards the end, there weren’t that many people watching ‘Glee.’ So I don’t know how many people would then watch a spinoff,” he said. “We’re off the air for a reason.”

The actor, whose show “Sick Of My Own Voice” airs on Dash Radio, added that he felt “Glee” never truly recovered from the death of star Cory Monteith, which changed the vibe on set and made it challenging for writers to determine a new direction for the series.

Obama Jokes That There Could Be Another ‘Pot Smoking Socialist’ In The White House

President Barack Obama joked on Saturday that one potential 2016 candidate for president could continue his legacy in the White House at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday.

“Bernie Sanders might run. I like Bernie. Bernie’s an interesting guy. Apparently some folks want to see a pot-smoking socialist in the White House,” Obama said, referring to the Vermont senator’s interest in a campaign for the White House in 2016. “We could get a third Obama term after all. It could happen.”

There Ought to be a Law

By Diana Wales – Special Guest Blogger

There Ought to be a Law

I’m a law and order kind of gal, and I often imagine new ways to catch or punish criminals. For example, when some punk spray-paints his initials or gang symbol all over someone else’s property, I think every item of clothing he owns should be stenciled with something not of his choosing – like Hello Kitty or Tinkerbell – which he’d be required to wear during any probationary period. Besides bringing home the point of how annoying it is to have your stuff defaced by someone else, he’d be laughed out of any gang, which is a bonus.

That’s a low-tech, easy fix. But we live in an age where more high-tech options are available to law enforcement. I had a stalker who worked at my company. He was put on a psychiatric disability leave, but immediately after his return he threatened to “kick in my f*ing teeth,” so apparently the meds didn’t work quite as planned. He was dismissed, but I was still afraid to walk through the parking lot afterward.

I want to see anyone under a restraining order required to wear a special tracking anklet linked to an app that their victim can load on a phone. If the two devices are within a minimum distance, the anklet alarms, the phone alarms, and the police are alerted. This technology already exists, we just need the laws to catch up. Frankly, I’d also like the anklet to taser the bastard if he comes too close, but that could pose a public safety issue if he happens to be driving.

A more sophisticated tool I’d like developed is a lie detector that is at least 99.99% accurate. Considering recent advances in brain mapping, this should be possible, and I think the government should fund it. Assuming anyone innocent of a crime will volunteer for the test, it would greatly reduce investigative costs and wrongful convictions. Plus it could come in darned handy during terrorist interrogations, elections, and dating.

On the rehabilitation front, we should be studying hormone balancing for criminals.  For example, studies indicate that oxytocin can enhance empathy. Let’s try giving parolees with low levels of oxytocin some implants with a time-released supplement to see if it reduces recidivism, or if just makes them feel really, really bad about their next drive-by shooting.

That’s just a small sample of the ideas that run through my head every time I watch a Dateline episode. How would you improve our system of justice?

(Note: I’ve used the pronoun “he” in a couple examples, but the concepts apply equally to female scumbags.)

How To Apply Mascara According To The Best Beauty Hacks Out There

Putting on mascara ranks pretty low on the spectrum of complicated makeup application techniques (um, hello, contouring). Still, there are common mistakes that are worth avoiding.

In the video above, PopSugar Beauty reporter Kirbie Johnson shares 10 mascara tips to keep in mind when whipping around that wand.

For instance, do your eyelashes always clump together? Allow each coat to dry before putting on the next to avoid this mishap. Also, be sure to check the expiration date on your product, as Johnson notes that the average shelf life for mascara is 2-4 months.

Other tips we love include applying loose powder to your eyelashes first — it’s the secret to getting thicker and fluffier lashes. And if you’re having a hard time coating your lower lashes, hold the mascara wand vertical instead of horizontal.

Check out the video for all 10 mind-blowing mascara hacks and leave your tips in the comments section.

How To Set Boundaries With A Narcissist: Is There A Way To Do That?

You may be in a relationship with a narcissist, or divorcing one, or trying to co-parent with a narcissist after your divorce. One of the most difficult aspects of being tangled in a narcissist’s web is learning to set firm boundaries with them. Narcissists typically have poor boundaries themselves; they like to win and maintain power, and they don’t like others setting boundaries on them. They even feel above the boundaries of the law — they don’t follow court orders and they find personal boundaries easy to violate. So, can you set boundaries for yourself and your children?

What is a boundary? It is simply drawing a line in the sand that represents what you are willing to do and what you will not do. We all have our limits. Narcissists are capable of devouring people with their selfish needs and demands while at the same time eroding their partners’ self-worth. If you are contending with an “ex,” it’s helpful to learn how to set boundaries. You will eventually have to teach this necessary life skill to your children too.

You do not have to maintain that line in the sand in a hostile manner. You can enforce it instead with firm words, practice, patience and restraint. You can even do it courteously and kindly. Sometimes it is as simple as saying that you are not going to listen further to an unpleasant exchange, hanging up the phone and turning off the phone. You can also walk away from situations and say that you cannot listen to a person who is being unreasonable. You can close the door, drive away and use other such tactics to enforce your limits.

Let’s also look at some practice dialogues:

Your ex says: “I left some things in your garage and I am stopping by after work to get them.”

You say: “I am at work today and it is not all right with me for you just to stop by my house anytime or enter my garage. You will have to schedule a time to do this when it works with my schedule, too. You must respect my property and schedule or I will contact law enforcement about your trespassing.”

Your ex says: “I know I was supposed to be there at six p.m. to get the kids, but I am coming by after school instead.”

You say: “We are going to follow the court orders exactly, and you cannot change the times at your whim. The children will not be home after school because we have other plans. We will see you at six p.m. tonight as planned.”

Your ex: Swears at you on the phone and is verbally abusive.

You say: “I will not allow you to speak to me that way any longer. Just so you know, each time that you do this, I will simply hang up the phone.” (Hang up. Do not engage or fight back.)

You ex: Disparages you in front of the children and you hear it.

You say: “This is not good for the children. I will remove them from this situation and I will speak with them about why it is not okay for you to do this. They will be told this each time you are determined to put me down in front of them. I won’t disparage you, but I will let them know that this behavior is not acceptable.”

These are just a few common examples. Think about the boundaries that your narcissistic ex or partner may try to cross on a consistent basis. You can work on writing out assertive and firm answers so you are ready to fire when the occasion calls.

You can set boundaries without blaming, shaming, or fighting. But it does take a bit of the warrior spirit to stay firm. The key to setting boundaries with a narcissist is to stick to them. You will want to communicate clearly and directly each time. If you make a mistake and find that you “lose it” or say something wrong, just keep practicing and be accountable for your behavior. In the end you will begin to feel empowered and much better about yourself and your ability to cope with that narcissist in your life. As a recent client told me, “My ex-wife, even though we are divorced, still asks me to pick up her cleaning and groceries on the way over to get the kids. I was always kind of co-dependent and had to orbit around her in the marriage and it took me some time to stop doing this. I finally learned to just say no! It feels really good.”

There Will Always Be Zoraks

An anonymous commenter on the Topeka Capital Journal website by the pseudonym of Zorak has chosen to repeatedly misgender me and to refer to me by a name that is not my legal name. Apparently, Zorak thinks this is cute or clever or something.

Also apparently, Zorak seems to think that my blogs on the Capital Journal website, which are also posted on the Huffington Post, are somehow meant to create some kind of discussion about the rightness or wrongness of living authentically. Positions that denounce authenticity are not worthy of the dignity of a response and it normally satisfies my purpose to simply note that the time has come when the naysayers have become the best witnesses for the advance of equality (which is true).

There have been monumental advances in the last few years as people become more aware of the fact that there is widespread discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans, and that treating all people with dignity and respect, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, is a human rights issue and an American value.

The idea that creating legal protections for LGBT citizens grants special rights is purely absurd. Special rights are rights that one group of people have while others do not. The special rights in this situation are the rights that are denied to LGBT Americans — the ones that everyone else has but LGBT Americans are denied.

The idea that any other human being can possibly know another person’s gender identity is equally absurd. When people like Zorak misgender people like me, they are claiming to have that knowledge. Perhaps the Zoraks of the world are also able to determine every other intimate aspect associated with other people. Or perhaps the Zoraks of the world are just full of the stuff that comes out of the south end of a north-bound bull.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but it would seem that if having a penis is what makes someone a man, there would be a lot more men in the world. And the world would indeed be a different place in which to live.

The claim that a person’s gender identity always matches their biological birth sex is certainly utilized as a weapon of bullying, discrimination, and even violence. This claim is also grounded in ignorance. The American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Medical Association, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health have reached a different conclusion than Zorak. All of these professional, knowledge-based organizations have determined that my identity as a woman is valid, in spite of what Zorak and Zorak-like-persons would like to believe.

All of this having been said, there is a reason that I write about being transgender. There is a reason that I live as an openly-transgender woman. There is a reason that I post my blogs at the Huffington Post, and lgbtSr.org, and the Topeka Capital Journal.

Somewhere, a transgender teenager is contemplating the act of walking in front of a moving semi on the interstate. Some LGBT person is wondering whether or not their life has value. Some desperately harmed and shamed human being is trying to determine if life is just too hard for them to continue the battle.

It is my hope that a few of these people will find hope in the words I post. Hope that they can discover the incredible joys of living authentically. Hope that their lives are just as valuable as the lives of everyone else. Hope that there is a reason to continue the battle.

And it is a battle — a needless, pointless, shameful battle that is being fought by LGBT Americans day after day after day. It is a battle that is perpetuated when people like Zorak find it necessary to misgender people like me.

No, it is not for Zorak that I write these words. I write these words so that the people who need to hear them will know that there will always be Zoraks, but there are other voices in the universe. There are people who are willing to stand up and proclaim that there is nothing wrong with living authentically, and the voices that say otherwise are the neverending gasps of ignorance that have no rightful place, but will always exist.

There will always be Zoraks, but there will also be people who expose their words as shallow and hollow. People who understand that the value of a human being is not based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The value of a human being is based in the fact that they are a human being. Anyone who tries to tell you anything different is… well… a Zorak.

There is No Spoon: A Pre-Christmas Story

One of the most well-known scenes from the Matrix is when Neo is told, “There is no spoon.” We can while away an afternoon discussing what that means, but the gist of it is: reality is not what it seems. A recent mind-bender for me was opening my silverware drawer and seeing that indeed, there were no spoons. Where the hell did all my spoons go?

I didn’t bother checking the dryer. Its only interested in my socks, and now not so much since I began safety pinning them together. This has drastically reduced the mysterious dryer-related disappearances.

Here’s the deal: I live in a two-family house with — oh my god — my family, and so when sharing a meal it’s not uncommon for plates, pots, pans, and yes, silverware to circulate freely between kitchens. So my spoons weren’t missing. They had just temporarily relocated. When I paid a visit to my parents’ silverware drawer I hit the mother lode of spoonage. They had so many spoons I don’t even know how they were able to close the drawer.

As I was liberating my spoons, my dad wandered into the kitchen and said, “What are you doing?”

“Getting my spoons.”

“You’re taking our spoons?”

“No. I’m taking my spoons.”

“Oh. Well, just leave the soup spoon.”

“You have plenty of soup spoons in here. You don’t need mine.”

“No,” my Dad says. “We only have one.”

He comes over, sees the serving spoon in my hand and says, “Yeah. That’s it. Why are you taking our Soup Spoon?” (And now I have to capitalize it because now The Spoon has become a sentient being and a proper noun.)

“Okay,” I said, “First of all it’s a serving spoon, not a Soup Spoon. Second of all, it’s not yours. Third, you have a drawer full of actual Soup Spoons.”

My Dad pouted — pouted — and said, “But we like this one.”

And just like that I was sucked inside the matrix of a conversation I never thought I’d have, saying things I never thought I’d say, standing my ground on things that I knew didn’t matter but it was too late. We were in it and I was going to see it through to the end because I am my parents’ daughter. The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree and the tree is roots-deep crazy.

I said: “Dad, this is not a Soup Spoon. It’s a serving spoon. And it’s mine.”

“But we use it.”

“Too eat soup?”

“Yes.”

“But you can’t do that.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s a serving spoon!”

My dad walked off muttering to himself about spoons, ungrateful adult children, and calling his lawyer to amend the will.

I walked off muttering to myself about spoons, senior-citizen parents, and calling my therapist.

Now, I find sometimes when I get caught up in these familial exchanges that I regress and do the things I used to do when I was a kid. In this case, I went straight to my mom — who, by the way, was eating a bowl of soup, presumably with an actual but undesirable Soup Spoon — and said:

“Ma! Are you ok with The Spoon you’re using right now?”

She said, “Yes.” Which in Mom-Speak means, “No” and my dad looked at me as if to say, “See! I told you!”

And that’s how I found myself the next day, during a snowstorm, shopping in Bed, Bath & Beyond for His & Hers, Big Ass Soup-slash-Serving Spoons. I, of course, had also brought along My Spoon in a Ziploc bag — because I didn’t want security to think I was stealing — so I could measure it against The Spoons at the store to make sure I was getting the right, wrong size.

I debated giving The Spoons to my parents for Christmas, which was not too far off. But now it pained me to think of my parents eating soup with inferior spoons. Plus, when your parents are old, waiting to give them things doesn’t feel like a good idea. (“Gather ye rosebuds while ye may.”) And I really just wanted to see the looks on their faces.

The first thing my dad said to me was, “How much did these cost?” I didn’t tell him but that didn’t stop him from telling me how he could have gotten them cheaper. He can’t help himself. But before he could launch into how ‘back in the day you could buy a complete set of silverware for a quarter and get back change,’ I told him The Spoons were cheap and that I had a 20-percent-off coupon. That seemed to make him happy and get me back in the will.

So now I got Spoons. My Parents got Spoons. All gods’ children got Spoons. I also got an appointment with my therapist because I have no idea how I’m going to handle the new reality of my now missing Steak Knives.

What I’m Looking For

A petite man who is all the above, but especially happy, intelligent, communicative, a good listener, romantic, affectionate, sensual, passionate, intimate, uninhibited, earthy, emotionally healthy and available, spontaneous, spiritual, giving, caring, loyal, honest, attractive, active and mischievous. Someone who likes to hike and bike through the world's mountains and go walking on many sun-splashed beaches. To travel the world in search of adventure and full moons and fantastic sunsets. Someone who will accept and love me for the woman God made me to be and that I, conversely, can accept and love for the man God made him to be. Someone more interested in the person on the inside than the cover, because, as we all know, the cover will eventually fade.I will not cut off any options to meet my "soul mate", wherever he may live.I would be interested in a healthy relationship, one with peace and harmony, respect and trust, commonality and mutual attraction, communication and affection, caring and giving. All it takes is for two wonderful people to find each other

Looking For That Man Who Is Not Like Other Man Out There

About Me

I think It's always easy to describe yourself to a person and tell them your interests until it comes down to be real! Yes I have a silly handle – but please don't mistake the intention. I only mean the physical side of things has been lacking in my life, BUT much more than that, what I REALLY missing MORE is simply the intimacy of being able to have a serious man who will be honest with me, and me with him. Someone who is willing to share my time, and my life, – up to the extent of sharing my bed, or simply just spending time with me doing things lovers do stuff I'm told is called "Living Life" and a "Happy Home". I am an easy going person who gets along with anyone. A bit shy at first but I guess it's just me being nervous. friendly, I like to talk, not argue, very CARING and KIND, center of attention, Has the last word. Good to find, hard to keep. Passionate, wonderful lovers. Fun to be around. Too trusting at times and gets HURT EASILY. Saying that though, please have no doubt that if we click, I'd show no hesitation in diving right in. Hopefully you'll be of similar mind. In the end, I guess it comes down to that wondeful intangible quality of "Chemistry", but then, I suppose everything does anyway, doesn't it ?? I need some sort of mental connection when we meet, fairly quickly, or sadly not much will happen with us. So – yeah – I suppose I'm someone who wants to prove the old saying that there must be more to life, as I've been single now for too long.

What I’m Looking For

Firstly, as I am genuinely wanting to meet someone from this site, and fully intend to follow through and meet you if we arrange to meet, then ALL I ASK is that I get NO mind-games or dishonesty from any men…….I don't dish it out so I don't accept it back from anyone anywhere. So – What kind of man do I want to meet through this site? I don't much care what other languages you can speak, as long as we can communicate at least reasonably in English. I guess, in essence, all I'm looking for is an intelligent, witty, GENUINE man who likes to laugh at the silly things in life, is passionate about something – at least one thing – in life, who has a pleasant proportionate body, and is happy in it, is happy with his life, or can at least deal with his baggage, (and yes we ALL have some so very many people who say they don't have any baggage from life are so often deluded or just plain liars…). SOMEONE!!! NOT afraid to BE HIMSELF
