Dialect coach Erik Singer once again takes a look at idiolects, better known as the specific way one individual speaks. Did Rami Malek do a good job speaking through prosthetics to become Freddie Mercury? How accurate was Jennifer Lawrence’s Long Island accent in Joy? Did Christian Bale nail former Vice President Dick Cheney?

Rick Ross’ Port of Miami 2 is already a few weeks old but the Bawse of The South takes no breathers and for his latest visual picks one of the album’s standout cuts which features the much revered King of The North.
For his latest clip to the Drake featured “Gold Roses,” Ricky Rozay roams through the rooms and halls of an elegant mansion which features some aphrodisiac-ish lighting that can make night-time sexy time regardless of who your date is. Seriously, that kind of lighting is the stuff playboys install in their crib for real.
Speaking of playboys, Swae Lee continues to enjoy the solo life in his clip to “Sextasy” in which he woos a young Latina with champagne on a boat ride… in a pool. Kinda surprised no one’s ever thought to do that in their video. Props, young man.

Though Def Jam, Death Row and Bad Boy were considered the 90’s biggest and baddest Hip-Hop record labels, real heads know that LOUD Records was responsible for dropping just as much classic material (if not more) as the aforementioned companies. To celebrate its 25th Anniversary, LOUD Records will be throwing a OG star-studded concert on October 11 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ dubbed LOUD Twenty-Five.
Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Big Pun, and Xzibit are just a few names that the house that Steve Rifkind and Rich Issacson built. They helped push the rap game forward and the sounds that they created still reverberate in the culture to this day.
Slated to feature performances from LOUD alumni such as the Wu-Tang Clan, Three 6 Mafia, Mobb Deep (R.I.P. Prodigy), dead prez, Pete Rock, and a Big Pun tribute courtesy of Fat Joe and Remy Ma, the concert event is poised to become a night to remember for the heads who lived Hip-Hop’s golden era.
Steve Rifkind perfectly summed up why this concert means so much to him.
“This celebration means the world to me,” said Rifkind via a press statement. “LOUD was born out of a love for hip hop and a childhood fantasy. To see it grow into one of the most iconic and storied hip hop labels in history and having the opportunity to celebrate with our amazing artists 25 years later leaves me speechless about our journey.”
Get tickets to the OG Hip-Hop concert of 2019 at Ticketmaster and let us know if you’re looking forward to partying like it’s nineteen ninety-something once again come October 11.

Today the LA representative links up with Future in the visuals for “Interstate 10” where they hatch a plan to pull off a bank heist only to show their faces and catch more enough bodies to spend the next few lifetimes behind bars. Wasn’t even no Popeyes Chicken Sandwiches to be had, b.

Shoppers buying the latest fall trends may soon notice prices rising.
That’s because the Trump administration plans to slap 15 percent levies this Sunday on a hefty amount of apparel and footwear as the trade war with China continues to escalate. The former will be most impacted, with over 90 percent of apparel imported to the U.S. from China set to be subject to the new levies.
As fashion is an industry that is already grappling with high duties (51 percent of those collected by the U.S. government came from the apparel, footwear, textiles and travel goods industry in 2017), a number of high-profile brands have warned that they will have little choice but to raise prices.
Ralph Lauren Corp. was among them, with its president and chief executive officer Patrice Louvet stating earlier this year that tariffs “will result in higher costs for goods and services to the average cost-conscious U.S. family, which will in turn lower apparel and footwear sales, resulting in loss of jobs for U.S. workers.”
Others that have issued similar warnings include PVH Corp., the owner of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger; Forever 21; Steve Madden, and Ulla Johnson.
Here are four fall fashion items that will be hit with levies this weekend

Zadig & Voltaire knows the power of friends.
The Paris-based brand revealed exclusively to WWD the launch of a handbag collection, Zadig & Voltaire x Kate Moss, bowing Sept. 26, a day after the label’s runway show at the Ritz in Paris. (The location was chosen because it was one of the supermodel’s haunts.)
“The primary reason for partnering with Kate was to work with her creatively on developing a new line of handbags. And so this is what they’ve done,” said Christopher Tate, chief executive officer of Zadig & Voltaire, North America, and a board member at the company. “[Cecilia and Kate] were models around the same time and sort of grew up in the industry together, so it’s not a new relationship. This is the first time they’re working together at Zadig & Voltaire in the context of collaborating on products.”
“She was a customer of Zadig & Voltaire — her daughter loves our T-shirts, and we had some friends in common, so we were linked. But then, she’s such a superstar, it’s not like I’m going to hang out with her everyday,” said creative director Cecilia Bönström. “I admired from afar. But then, she’s been a busy girl, you know.

Even before Common became the example of how a man is supposed to go about life and the obstacles it brings, he was still dropping gems in his records about what it takes to face the trials and tribulations that we’re sure to go through as we grow. Needless to say he’s only gotten better at it throughout the years.
In his Jill Scott and Samora Pinderhighes assisted clip to “Show Me That You Love,” the Hip-Hop OG highlights the moments spent with his daughter (or lack thereof) and how it helped him take a more active role in her life. Lesson!
Keeping with the theme of Hip-Hop OG’s, Little Brother makes their long awaited return to the game and in their retro visual to “Black Magic (Make It Better)” take to Black Wall Street in Durham, NC to rock a crowd that’s been waiting for this vibe to groove to for years.

We’re not sure why Future’s been featuring slim light-skinned models in his videos lately but they’re steadily becoming a primary feature in his visual work.
That continues to be the case in his latest clip to the Meek Mill and Doe Boy assisted “100 Shooters” where Future and company keep things hot and gritty with lit up motorcycles (literally on fire) and still models who don’t even bop to the beat. Just stare into the camera. It’s creepy sexiness.

It’s back-to-school shopping season — and with school doors opening soon, it’s time to load up the carts with all the essentials. From backpacks to handbags, here are some of WWD’s highlights for heading back-to-school.
While most of older Hip-Hop heads refer to this generation as the “mumble rap” era, YBN Cordae is one of the few that seems to get daps for his impressive flows and rap content.
Continuing to build his reputation for being a microphone gripper for real, YBN Cordae comes through with a new clip for “Broke As F*ck” where he and his crew bike around town looking to five finger discount whatever they can in whichever convenience store they visit. Free things are just better sometimes.

Seems like Diddy’s son done learned a thing or two from the Hip-Hop icon. Namely, how to turn up at a party.
In his visuals for “Surf,” King Combs invites Yung Miami, Tee Grizzley and AZChike to his a bikini party where twerking is a must if you wanna get noticed by the cameraman and the pool itself is largely ignored. Kinda surprised no one actually surfed in this video but it is what it is.

Looking to keep that energy going to the new rap duo come through with a clip for the title cut but if you thought they’d be re-enacting scenes from the classic Jim Carry and Jeff Bridges film, think again. Draped in ice and surrounded by bikini clad women, Dolph and Glock seem to be living the life that most rappers dream of.
Keeping the vibe in the south, Boosie Badazz turns up at Bloody Jay’s pool party in their visual to “Thug My Way” where the two men and their crews enjoy the company of many women looking to escape the hot summer weather in the least clothes possible.

Logic’s been in the game for a minute and though he’s one of the game’s most popular rappers he’s never been one to floss his riches in his videos… until now. Kinda.
Giving his fans an idea of what he’d look like if he was balling, Logic throws on some jewelry and rocks a full length fur to ride the bus before falling victim to the jux in his Gucci Mane assisted visual to “Icy.” We guess this is why he doesn’t rock ice like that cause the wolves would come for him on that first full moon, b.

Not too long ago Lil Duval and Charlamagne Tha God had social media in a craze when they dropped their monogamous anthem “Black Men Don’t Cheat” and though Duval might’ve rubbed some people the wrong way with a recent tweet they might be willing forgive him after peeping the clip to his latest hit… or not.
Linking up with the God for the visuals to the aforementioned cut, Lil Duval continues to live his best life in the pool while rebuffing the advances of bikini clad women looking to get his attention. What’s the chances Eric Benét hops on the remix?
From the glitz to the gritty, Ghostface Killah enjoys the come up he claimed in his previous clip and turns up in the club with his goons and girls for his video to “Party Over Here.”
Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Tee Grizzley, Lil Durk, and more.

It wasn’t too long ago that Rick Ross announced that his forthcoming album would essentially be the follow-up to his debut street classic dubbed Port of Miami 2, and with it’s release date just a few weeks away the Bawse drops his first visual in support of the project.
Linking with Swizz Beatz for the Just Blazed produced “Big Tyme,” Ricky Rozay goes into a toy box to pull out some hot wheels and get his Fast & Furious on on the highways of Miami with Jordyn Woods riding shotgun. This is how rappers live when money ain’t a thing.
Speaking of rappers living, Slim Thug may not be the chart topper he once was but for his clip to “KOTH” he gives us a tour of his mansion to let us know he’ll still living that boss life.
Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Moneybagg Yo, Freeway featuring Johnnii, and more.

Snoop Dogg is close to being three decades in the game but if Hip-Hop has taught us anything it’s not about how old you look on the outside but how young you feel on the inside. And Snoop still seems to feel like as young as he was when he was asking people what his name was.
Linking up with Swizz Beatz for his latest visual to “Countdown,” the Doggfather takes it back to the lowriders with switches before pulling out the Maybach wagon reserved for the biggest ballers.
Back in Detroit Big Sean surprisingly recruits his ex-wifey Jhene Aiko and finds himself on trial for cheating in his clip to “Single Again.”

She has dreamed of one man her whole life – now it’s time to meet him. Anna is normal save for one fact. Every night, she dreams of the gods. The nightmare is always the same. She is thrown from Olympus for stealing her husband’s thunderbolt. He banishes her into the human realm to live out a tortured existence. She’s about to find out her dreams are real. When she meets the richest man in the city, she’s thrown head-first into the modern world of the gods. It’s a realm of retribution, violence, power, and lies. And at its heart lies the one man who broke her heart – Zeus. It’s time for Anna to seek her revenge. … Gods no More is a sprawling urban fantasy sure to please fans of Odette C. Bell’s The Frozen Witch.

Lizzo is probably the only thickity-thick woman in the rap game who has no problem whatsoever flaunting her curves in two-piece outfits that would make most women with her physical degree uncomfortable (props, ma).
Needless to say in her Missy Elliott visual for “Tempo” she demonstrates as much as she shakes, twerks and bounces to the beat in a parking lot before Missy joins in on the fun draped in one of her signature jumpsuits.
Back in the trap Kevin Gates lays up with snakes before taking to the streets to whip it in a tire poppin’ drop-top whip in his clip to “Facts.”

For the past few months Travis Scott’s been the topic of discussion thanks to the insanely anticipated releases of his Air Jordan 1 collaborations (took enough L’s on those to fill a room with shelves, b!), but hypebeasts should be reminded that the man does make music. How else you think he got on Jordan Brand’s radar?
Today the man cashing in on backwards checks comes through with a black-and-white visual for “Wake Up” in which he walks around a mansion where everyone’s unconscious before taking flight in a spiffy pair of his Air Jordan 1 lows. Must be the shoes.
Majid Jordan meanwhile go on a road trip where they go from enjoying some drinks and a rodeo show to tripping out on some “special” hot sauce straight from Hillary Clinton’s purse in the Khalid assisted clip to “Caught Up.”

Speaking on being tabbed to crafted the exclusive single, Snoop added:
“I’m a lifelong fan of the Madden NFL franchise– I play all the time, with my kids and friends, so creating my own exclusive track for Madden NFL 20 – literally called ‘Madden 20’ – that everyone will be able to hear as they play was a dope feeling.”
“The Madden 20 soundtrack is dope and features so many up and coming artists that are talented and represent the next generation of hip-hop. The Madden NFL franchise is such a part of the culture of both hip-hop and sports, so I love that the music in the game reflects that.”
The only thing left to reveal ahead of the of Madden NFL 20’s August 2 worldwide release is the commercial. EA is already hinting it will boast some serious star power. You can sign in to your Spotify account and listen to the playlist above.
Well it seems like Trippie Redd done won the longstanding rivalry with Tekashi 6ix9ine. Given Tekashi did it to himself what with all the snitching he did after getting himself locked up for documenting his own boneheaded criminal activities. Still, Trippie’s out here making records and 69’s not.
Today the Canton, Ohio crooner/rapper comes through with his latest clip for the Lil Baby and Lil Duke assisted clip to “Mac 10” in which Trippie and company recreate the cult classic Scarface with Trippie Montana and ‘em going to war with the opposition and coming out on top of the world.
Back in Brooklyn M.O.P.’s Billy Danze goes the solo route for a minute and in his visual to “Gone Fishing” sits on his own throne before taking an unwilling party to the lake to get familiar with the fishes. Don’t beef with that man, b.

As similar as Chicago and New York City culture are you’d think that more of their rappers would collaborate on the regular and while that hasn’t been the case, Bronx’s Slayter and Chiraq’s G Herbo have changed that for at least a second.

For his brand new visual to “Turner Field” the ATLien takes to the field where the Atlanta Braves provided many joyful memories and heartbreaking moments to the baseball fans of the Big Peach. Damn those 1999 New York Yankees (tee-hee).

As Cardi B faces serious jail time for allegedly plotting the infamous strip club fade that left some talented dancers with half-paralyzed booties, hence, not being able to fully twerk (#kidding), the Bronx born rapper continues to go about her grind as if it’s just another day in the hood.

There was a time when is a Migos music video wasn’t using a strip club as the backdrop or strippers in general you’d think that something was amiss like “Were they banned from the big boy bar or something?” It just so happened that they were evolving before our eyes but today they take it back to their favorite scenery and we ain’t complaining.
Taking court at The Quality Control Stripper Bowl for their visual to “Stripper Bowl,” the Migos and everyone in attendance didn’t just make it rain, they created a monsoon in there and we doubt FEMA would be able to convince anyone in the club to run for the exits. Not with that world-class twerking taking place.

If nothing else a prison sentence will give a man a better appreciation of his freedom and when you have the finances to live life to the fullest by God that is exactly what you do.
Gucci Mane and Meek Mill know this all too well so we can’t be mad to see them living their best lives in the clip to “Backwards” where they throw a pool party and the women in attendance throw inhibitions into the wind and get turnt up like they know their parents will never see this video.

Though us older Hip-Hop heads appreciate all the things that this digital era is providing us there are still many days that we long for the era when life was much simpler in the streets.

When Cory Gunz essentially blew up the spot on Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot” it really seemed like his road to rap superstardom was all but imminent. It wasn’t.
Still the son of Love & Hip Hop Creep Squad savant, Peter Gunz continues to show and prove he’s a rhythmical beast and in “Paradise” links up with Philippe Prosper for a kung-fu showcase in a park that’s immediately followed by a celebration. This visual is proof that colorful leaves work in every setting.

Oh how we miss the days when good ol’ street Hip-Hop dominated the scene and would had the hardest of rocks bopping their heads while deciphering the deeper meaning of the bars they were taking in.
