EXCLUSIVE: GCDS Debuts Beauty Range

MILAN — Italian streetwear brand GCDS is entering the beauty arena.
The company will unveil its GCDS Beauty line on its online store on Nov. 1, followed by the launch during the ComplexCon fair in Long Beach, Calif., this weekend.
Manufactured by Italian color cosmetics supplier Intercos, the first drop of cruelty-free products includes four lipsticks targeting a young and playful audience and retailing approximately at 22 euros each.
“These products are for me the purse essentials,” said designer Giuliano Calza, who founded the label in 2015 with his brother Giordano. Calza underscored he focused on developing a functional and interesting offering. “[My goal] is not to compete with the major beauty companies, I just wanted to deliver fun products to gift my people.”
This is reflected by the bold names and the ironic catch phrases related to each product, including the Hype transparent lip balm; the Blinghoe plumping lipstick with a sparkling pink finishing; the Marijuana 4:20 ph reagent green option turning into a natural cherry blush tint once applied on the lips and the Velvet D.I.C.K. red matte lipstick.

Cam’ron Honors Son’s Mother On Instagram, Buys Her A Range Rover

Cam'ron, son and Toy at graduation

Source: Instagram / @mr_camron

Who would have thought Cam’ron was the sentimental type? Today (June 23), the Harlem rapper took to Instagram to honor the mother of his son, who just graduated high school, and it was all types of heartwarming.

Instagram Photo

Cam is a proud papa as his son—the same little dude from the Come Home With Me cover—is heading to college. But his IG post was to salute and honor his son’s mother, Toy, who he credits for the kid’s success, as well as his sense of style.

“A Eastside story: so the first week When I got to 7th grade, I seen this girl that I automatically loved. She was cute, had swag, and fly jewelry. I found out her name was Toy and she was a grade ahead of me. And she was tuff. I mean could beat up boys, take it to the guns etc. I was like… what kind of 8th grader is this?!,” wrote Cam with a pic of the teenaged couple.

He went on to detail how Toy got him fly, buying him Gucci gear, chains, and how until this day he’s not sure why. Considering how Cam loves to be a trendsetter, him giving kudos out like this is major.

However, Cam admitted being Killa Cam was the doom of their romantic relationship.

“When she became a junior in high school I noticed a big changed in her. She took school more serious and became a honor roll student. Went on to graduate from St. John’s, masters from Delaware st, and another masters back at St. John’s. And also the mother of my son.. We ended up breaking up when I turned about 26 (I think) because of my cheating, lying and trying to peruse a music career that she wanted nothing to do with. She wanted me to go to school and we live a family life. But she understood my vision but she wasn’t going to be a part of it.”

Fast forward, and their son is a high school graduate, and the kid is so thorough, he wanted his dad to give his mother a gift for the milestone.

“I didn’t have a father in my life so I could never tell my son no to anything. But because of her our son had 5 full academic scholarship offers.🙏🏾 and she hates social media. she’s doesn’t have a page etc. So I asked my son.. what kind of car u want for graduating? He said “dad I don’t want a car yet. After I get my associates degree then I’ll rock. But we should get mom a new car. She likes that new Range Rover velar.” I said “WORD!!”

So Cam’rom got her that Range Rover, and some new Gucci gear, too.

How real is that? Big up to co-parenting.

Check out Cam’s full story and footage of the graduation blessings below and by swiping.

L.A.-Based Mother Denim to Add Men’s Range in Ron Herman, Online

Mother denim, the eight-year-old Los Angeles-based premium denim brand, is adding men to the mix. Launching next week, the 10-piece collection ranges in price from $ 95 to $ 325 retail.
“Men’s has always been something we’ve wanted to do and it was more a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘what if.’ After developing our women’s Mother Superior line, which is based loosely on men’s vintage fits and fabrics, launching men’s was a natural evolution,” said Tim Kaeding, cofounder and creative director of Mother.
The Made in L.A. line has long borrowed from the boys for its women’s designs, from the early boyfriend jeans and denim shirts, to the unisex Love Your Other collection to its most recent line, Mother Superior, which is known for oversize silhouettes. Keading’s extensive personal collection of men’s denim, as well as other men’s jeans, patterns and fabrics have figured into all of the pieces.
The men’s line includes three jean silhouettes in four washes, all inspired by libations and the bar scene: The Joint (a skinny jean), The Neat (tapered straight leg) and The Chaser (a universal straight). There’s also a denim jacket and shirt, a twill trouser, a graphic printed shirt, plain and logo T-shirts, and a zip

EXCLUSIVE: Proenza Schouler Teams With Lancôme on Makeup Range

COLOR COLLABORATION: Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are teaming with Lancôme on a limited-edition makeup collection for fall, due out in July, WWD has learned.
The duo, whose fashion has been inspired by painters such as Carmen Herrera and Ellsworth Kelly, with distinctive approaches to color, was given carte blanche for their makeup creations.
“Lancôme has always represented the epitome of luxury beauty products, so it is like a dream come true to be able to collaborate with such an iconic and historic brand,” the duo said jointly in a statement.
Françoise Lehmann, general manager of Lancôme international, called Proenza Schouler fashion “the manifesto of a strong, free femininity. The idea of ‘empowerment’ is at the heart of their values, just as it has always been at the heart of the Lancôme philosophy.”
Proenza Schouler is the latest in a number of designer collaborations for Lancôme, which has worked on capsule color cosmetics lines with Olympia Le-Tan, Sonia Rykiel, Anthony Vaccarello, Jacquemus and Alber Elbaz — among others — in the past.
Proenza Schouler’s fragrance business is licensed to L’Oréal, also the owner of Lancôme.

British Label Aries Embraces Men With New Unisex Range for Mr Porter

ONE FOR THE BOYS: The British contemporary women’s wear label Aries has added a men’s wear component and will launch a unisex collection with Mr Porter on Jan. 18. The label, which launched in 2012 and is based in east London, delved into men’s wear after seeing a demand from its customers.
“Many of my male friends already wear Aries, and I think that the community has demanded more,” said creative director Sofia Prantera. “At the beginning, Aries was created as a unisex concept; however, it was hard to commercialize. My background is in designing men’s wear and my women’s wear has derived from that. With Aries the cuts are the same — it always fit men, we just didn’t advertise it.”
The men’s pieces take their cue from the label’s Nineties streetwear aesthetic: The 20-piece collection includes jackets, denim, logo T-shirts and shorts with a deconstructed Nineties vibe. There are also T-shirts that were taken apart then put back together.
Prantera also used classical and historical symbols and blended those designs with pop styles on shirts. The price range is 69 pounds for a T-shirt to 1,412 pounds for a sheepskin jacket. The collection will be available for purchase on the brand’s

Princess Charlene of Monaco Displays Fashion Range at Princess Grace Gala Events

It was a busy two days for the royals, Their Serene Hignesses Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco, in Los Angeles this week. In town to celebrate the Princess Grace Awards Gala, which this year honored James Cameron, Bridget Carpenter and Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, the couple made a grand entrance at The Beverly Hilton on Wednesday night.
The princess donned an off-the-shoulder, plum sequined column by Ralph Lauren. Coincidentally, the name of the gown was also “Charlene.” She accessorized with dark red suede stilettos that peeked out from a slit at the back of the gown as she strode into the hotel. Prince Albert looked dutiful in his black tuxedo, sporting a new mustache that harkened back to his father Prince Rainier.
The prince was overheard telling guests that The Beverly Hilton was a special place for his mother, the late Princess Grace. There are several black-and-white photos throughout the hotel that show the former Grace Kelly at Trader Vic’s restaurant and other glamorous parties.
“She’s quite statuesque,” one guest remarked of Princess Charlene. Several guests were instructed to wait at the beginning of the carpet so that the royal couple could make their way inside for photos first. “Don’t worry folks, you’ll

Misha Nonoo Takes On-Demand Manufacturing to Offer Wider Size Range

BEING MORE DIRECT: Having relaunched the business as direct-to-consumer more than a year ago, Nonoo started to think about on-demand manufacturing four or five months in. Seasonality was an initial motivator to sell straight to shoppers, but sustainability made her seek a manufacturing partner that would spare any fabric liability, take care of marking and grading and ensure cutting and sewing with a two-day turnaround time.
After six factories bid for the direct-to-consumer business, the designer decided on her existing partner — a “very entrepreneurial” Chinese factory owner, who was born and raised in New York City. Once an order is placed on her site, the item is cut and sewn in two days and then shipped directly to customers with U.S. ones receiving their merchandise in three days. “In a way, it’s this idea of going back to old school luxury but almost on a fast fashion calendar. In doing that, I realized that not only would I cut out more inventory, I would also cut out contributing to more waste. I would also be able to offer more sizes,” she said.
Earlier this month she started offering her Easy Eight in sizes from extra small to extra large, and from

Georgia May Jagger Collaborates With Volcom Stone Row on Capsule Range

GEORGIA’S GEAR: Georgia May Jagger has teamed with Volcom Stone Row on a capsule range. Launched in 1991, Volcom — a brand owned by the Kering Group — is known for its surfing, skating and snowboarding apparel, footwear and accessories. Stone Row is Volcom Women’s elder sister and is aimed at a contemporary market. It is inspired by music, art and travel.
Women’s global design director Kelly Summer said Jagger had a passion for design and wanted to work with the label to create pieces that were missing from her wardrobe, easy items to wear during her travels.
“She is honest and focused on what she wants,” Summer said of working with Jagger. “Plus, she is with us every step of the way through the design process. With a common influence from London and California, we are aligned on our inspiration for Volcom and Stone Row, so it’s been a great partnership. From initial concept, right through to the photo shoot, we have plenty of touch points with Georgia to make sure this collaboration is something she is proud of.
“Georgia is the Volcom muse. She represents our girl from her love of the ocean to skateboarding, music and art and, of course,

M.I.A Collaborates With Astrid Andersen on Capsule Clothing Range

M.I.A. MERCH: The British singer-songwriter Mathangi Arulpragasam — better known by her stage name M.I.A. — has teamed with the Danish designer Astrid Andersen on a capsule clothing range that launches this week.
The collaboration came about after Arulpragasam requested some spring 2017 garments from Andersen, and the musician asked if they could work together in some way. She lauded Andersen’s merging of “function, sport, simplicity and futurism.”
“M.I.A’s message is strong and pure and her personality is strong-willed and determined. That’s rare to find and that’s what made her so incredible to work with,” said Andersen. “For this particular project, it all happened super fast. We have the same references, so it was natural to create pieces from my spring 2017 collection and use her colors and artwork.”
The designer, who was inspired by artwork from the musician’s latest album, “AIM,” used silhouettes from her spring 2017 show. She revamped them using light technical materials in black, coral and beige.
The collection made its debut at the Astrid Andersen flagship in Denmark to celebrate Copenhagen Fashion Week. The range consists of anoraks, T-shirts and track pants. Prices range from 50 pounds for a T-shirt to 120 pounds for an anorak. It will be

Kourtney Kardashian Posts Gun Range Photo After Kim Calls For Gun Control

Here’s some fun sibling rivalry for you. The day after Kim Kardashian called for more gun control, her sister Kourtney went and posted a photo of herself at a shooting range.

Don't mess.

A photo posted by Kourtney Kardashian (@kourtneykardash) on

Kourtney captioned the photo, “Don’t mess,” and it’s hard to tell if the message was meant for Kim, though the timing is certainly strange. What’s more is that it’s not even a new photo, as Gossip Cop pointed out.

It’s actually a screenshot from a 2007 episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” where Kris Jenner brought Kourtney, Khloe and Kim to the shooting range for target practice. On the episode, Kim was nervous about shooting guns, but suddenly felt “empowered” once she started accessorizing with safety gear. The episode later showed her learning to shoot a massive assault rifle.

The subject of the purchase of guns has been a plot point on the family’s reality show several times throughout the series. And while Kim also spoke out when her stepparent Caitlyn Jenner decided to buy a gun for protection on a 2013 episode after the family members were the victims of a swatting prank, Kourtney’s throwback Instagram certainly strikes as a little shady.
